'That's what the word is.' The word is directly from the Russian intelligence disinformation directorate, just to be clear. Trump prefers to promote their lies to listening to the reputable sources within his own administration.

'Trump repeats debunked Ukraine claim a day after Hill's tough testimony'
President Trump on Friday repeated his debunked claim that Ukraine is connected to a hacked Democratic server from the 2016 election, the same assertion that he raised on his call with the Ukrainian president at the heart of an impeachment inquiry.

Trump made the claim a day after a former White House official with expertise on Russia, Fiona Hill, chastised Republicans for giving air in the impeachment hearings to conspiracy theories that Ukraine, and not Russia, was a driver of foreign interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Hill's statements to the House Intelligence Committee essentially rebuked her former boss, as Trump has repeatedly floated the theory — and did so again on Friday.
"They gave the server to CrowdStrike or whatever it’s called, which is a company owned by a very wealthy Ukrainian, and I still want to see that server," Trump told the hosts of "Fox & Friends."

"A lot of it had to do, they say, with Ukraine," he said. "Why did they give it to a Ukrainian company?"

"Are you sure they did that?" co-host Steve Doocey asked.

"That’s what the word is," Trump responded. "That’s what I asked actually on my phone call, you know. I asked it very point-blank because we’re looking for corruption. There’s tremendous corruption. Why should we be giving hundreds of millions of dollars to countries when there’s this kind of corruption?"

...

Tom Bossert, who previously served as Trump's homeland security adviser, said earlier this year that the CrowdStrike claim had "no validity" and was pushed by Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani.

"It’s not only a conspiracy theory, it is completely debunked," Bossert said, adding that he communicated this to Trump during his time working in the administration.

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, another White House expert on the issue, also testified this week that the idea Ukraine interfered in the U.S. election is a theory propagated by Russia.
During the same interview with the 'Fox and Friends' stooges, he slipped up: 'I do want, always, corruption — I say that to anybody!' (video at Twitter link below).
President Donald Trump: "I do want always corruption."

Trump met with Tim Apple and opened a plant that had opened in 2013.

Trumpists aren't going to be happy with this one, but they will have an easy response: The deep state can't be trusted to investigate itself!!!

'DOJ Report Clears FBI’s Russia Probe of Any Anti-Trump Political Bias'
Despite President Donald Trump ordering the Dept. of Justice to investigate the FBI amid false far right wing conspiracy theories the president himself has spread, the DOJ’s inspector general will issue a report clearing the Bureau’s Russia probe of any anti-Trump political bias.

The several-hundred page report will find that the investigation into Russia’s attack on the U.S. 2016 election and into the actions of Donald Trump and his associates was “legally and factually justified,” The Washington Post reports.

“In broad terms, the report refutes accusations of a political conspiracy by senior law enforcement officials against the Trump campaign to favor Democrat Hillary Clinton, while also knocking the bureau for procedural shortcomings,” according to the Post.

The report, due to be made public December 9, will find that the FBI did its job without politicizing its work. That will be a hard pill for the president and his supporters to swallow, but the DOJ watchdog has a tidbit to calm their appetite.

The report, according to the Post, will reveal that “a low-level FBI lawyer … altered an email to the Justice Department as part of the process for renewing the FISA warrant” against former Trump campaign foreign policy aide Carter Page.

That reportedly does not change the valid basis for the FISA warrant.

That FBI employee reportedly has been “removed” from the Bureau and is under criminal investigation.

Wouldn't that mean the Deep State has turned Trump's hand-picked Attorney General, Bill Barr, to the Dark Side?

Haha. Barr is enough of a lawyer that he will never go to jail. And he can't be fired as he is the only useful (to him) hire Trump had made.

Not a chance. This is a report from the Inspector General of the Justice Department, who was actually appointed by Eric Holder when he was US Attorney General, so, you know ...

Yes, Sessions and Barr both failed to properly clean house. The doofus Whitaker too, but I don't think anybody expected him to be a really competent toady. Trump has said that he wants to fire the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community because he didn't quash the whistleblower complaint that initiated the impeachment.

ETA: I did some reading, and I was incorrect above. The Inspector General of the Department of Justice is nominated by the president, not the US Attorney General (most IGs are designated by the head of department, but a few are presidential nominations). So, it's another instance of 'Thanks, Obama!' ;ob;

In view of this, Trump has only himself to blame.

That's true in so many instances. Trump is his own worst enemy.

If only we weren't along for the ride. :lay:
