Re: Straya!
I loved getting stoned, but eventually it started to produce a bad reaction, so I stopped...

I miss it occassionally, but I wouldn't take the stuff the kids have these days, it's bonkers! I don't need that kind of a magic carpet ride.

Snunk as it is called here is dangerously high in THC. Pure madness.

Yeah it's a fuckton stronger than what we had back in the day. I have a little one-hitter pipe, I take one hit on it and I'm nicely toasted. Looking forward to Swazi weed when I can smoke a joint again. And dabs - fuck me, those things are dangerous.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Re: Straya!
No Scot, it's not dangerous.
On potency, obviously breeders have selected for potency and they have succeeded. But there are still many, many varieties with THC levels comparable to grandpa's weed. BTW grandpa could have smoked higher potency weed himself, he just had a harder time sourcing it.
Another thing to keep in mind is the difficulty of knowing beforehand just what anyone will consider potent. THC isn't everything. Everyone reacts differently. If you think samples of pot that have come back 12 % THC mean you're safer with that than the 20 % THC you're asking to be surprised. The fact is the science isn't there yet and we don't know what all contributes to an individual's experience. We do know it isn't just the THC.

Re: Straya!
LIfe used to be a lot easier. Basically you had Panama Red, Acapulco Gold, and Mexican dirt weed. $100 a pound for dirt, $150 for Panama Red, and $200 for Acapulco gold. An ounce of gold ran you $30, you could get a "lid" (appx. 3/4 ounce) of dirt weed for $15.
Ah, the good old days....

A lot of people still look for those. However, Phylos Bioscience may have embarrassed a lot of the "strains" and their breeders by revealing how alike much of the varieties actually are, and how little stability there is i.e. how little breeding work was actually done. You can google them, look for Phylos Galaxy.

I have yet to smoke legal weed, and I'm friggin' surrounded by it. I mean seriously, we smell it EVERYWHERE since it was legalized...
