Real life is so far removed from ideologies it's a wonder we can even talk about them. But the gods saw fit to give us modern life, which is itself far removed from real life, so that we might disappear up our own asses and leave them alone. --amen :levi:

Rationalia relies on voluntary donations. There is no obligation of course, but if you value this place and want to see it continue please consider making a small donation towards the forum's running costs.
Details on how to do that can be found here.

Whats with the delicate removing of the "u"?

You are allowed to say fuck here as often as you like, you silly old fucker...
"Kinetic energy recovery system" is actually a thing. What it basically does, is to store some of the kinetic energy of the vehicle being braked in a flywheel or high voltage battery, then use it to help accelerating out of curves. The acronym for "kinetic energy recovery system" is of course "kers".

Many years ago the Swiss experimented with kers. They installed huge flywheels between the chassis rails of buses doing local routes. They were meant to store kinetic energy on alpine descents, to be used again during ascents. This turned out to be uneconomical at the time.

In formula 1 racing cars economy is not an issue. Performance gains are. Its competitors have been using kers since the 2009 racing season. When kers is used in conjunction with the high performance version in Formula 1 racing the acronym is "fkers".

You do that very well on your own.

You're welcome. Next, I'll explain where common expressions such as “don’t throw the baby out with the bath water", “it’s raining cats and dogs”, “dirt poor”, “thresh hold” and many others come from. Or you could look them up yourself.

Illuminations are not within my area of expertise, especially not the ones that appear in religious manuscripts produced by monks during mediaeval times. Dennis is your man for explaining those.

Atheism is a totally USELESS ideology. Its only practical value perhaps is to burn down churches, etc...
