“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

Re: The Make Fun of Elizabeth Warren Thread
Interestingly, in the CNN clip that I saw, where she was apologizing for listing herself as native American, and explaining again that this was her "family lore" (lol) - she was asked if there are any other documents that show the same thing, where she identified as native american. She hesitates, gets an exasperated look on her smug face, and then explains again how it's all family lore and not the same thing as membership in a tribe. But.... she does not answer the question.
Let's take a wild guess at whether there are various other times where she identified as native american, or american indian....
...obviously, she didn't do that at all to gain any advantage. Because, as everyone knows, it's actually detrimental to be native American. She'd be shooting herself in the foot by revealing her native american heritage, I mean lore.
CNN article about it -- https://www.cnn.com/2019/02/06/politics ... index.html
And, you're right, that "right wing, extremist" source known as the Washington Post broke the story -- As per CNN - "The Washington Post reported on a Texas bar registration card from 1986 in which, clearly and apparently in her own hand, the Massachusetts Democrat had written "American Indian" when asked to identify her race."
Per CNN -- that white nationalist news source --

Here's why this all matters so much: Prior to the Post's report of this bar registration card, Warren had maintained some level of plausible deniability about claiming herself as a Native American. As the Post wrote:
"The Texas bar registration card is significant, among other reasons, because it removes any doubt that Warren directly claimed the identity. In other instances Warren has declined to say whether she or an assistant filled out forms."
When the story initially broke WAY back during Warren's 2012 Senate campaign, it was reported that Warren had been listed as a minority in a faculty directory at Harvard Law School -- and had been part of the school's touting of its diversity. At the time, Warren and her campaign insisted that she was unaware that her background was being touted by Harvard -- and had never asked them to do so.
Of course, CNN goes on to defend her by saying it doesn't mean she gained anything from doing this -- unless someone comes out of the woodwork with a written confirmation that she was hired for something because she was native American, the media will not speculate. The would give no such consideration to a Republican, that much is obvious. What we now know is that Warren actively identified as a Native American as far back as 1986. This was not some mix-up or misunderstanding or someone who worked for Warren making a mistake. This was Warren's doing.

I love when people who support criminals, rapists, child kidnappers, racists, incompetents, war-mongers, and anti-science fuckwits try to speak to me as if I should care about the opinion of the immoral.

LOL, go back to your church, you moral busy-body.
I don't support criminals (Hillary Clinton), rapists (Bill Clinton), child kidnappers (Bill Clinton going to Epstein's underage girl island?), racists (Bill and Hillary Clinton), incompetents (Barack Obama), war mongers (Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton), or anti-science fuckwits (crystal worshipping, astrology believing, homeopathy using, GMO alarmist, Democrats).
You realize Trump has started zero wars. He has sought peace with North Korea. He has destroyed ISIS, and declared his policy to pull out of Syria. He has declared his policy to pull out of Afghanistan.
So far, other than having to mop up in Syria, Trump is more peaceful than the Nobel Peace Prize winning predecessor.

Even so, his record on Afghanistan, including this week a promise of peace talks to add to that modest military reinforcement, is starting to look much better than his predecessor’s.
