Re: Meanwhile, in Florida...
I wonder how much a bag of tobacco would have cost him? I don't imagine rolling your own taste worse than a fucking Pall Mall. -jesus
The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?
The Silver State. 1894.

I used to get 60 out of a 50gram pouch. Some were on the thin side though.

"Wat is het een gezellig boel hier".

I've rolled a lot of crappy cigarettes during my decades as a cigarette 'addict'. I NEVER brought a gun to a cigarette price dispute (to my recollection)Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Sat Dec 29, 2018 5:30 amI wonder how much a bag of tobacco would have cost him? I remember about 15 years after I had quit, a friend asked me to grab him a pack. When the lady at the counter told me the ludicrously high price, I laughed out loud. She jumped back as if I was angry. I didn't give a shit, but you could tell she was used to getting shit on for the high price.
I smoke different now, but I ensure that the person selling to me is happy with our prices/arrangement. Wouldn't want to have to go back to 'government smokes'. Daily Bail was fucking awful.

18 years now since I cast off the tobacco thrall...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!
And my gin!
Re: Meanwhile, in Florida...
Congrats, JimC! Great news.
I quit it on June 25, 2000, so a bit over that long for me.
Of course, I kept smoking, just got out of the tobacco thrall, as you describe it. Started in about 1980, so I put in my time.

I would prefer to worship trees in Africa rather than pick cotton in the South.

That's the best comic I've ever seen.

A Florida man has been arrested for allegedly pelting his mother with sausages. Why did he allegedly do it? Because she accidentally bumped into him while making his dinner https://www.wrmf.com/meanwhile-in-florida/

You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar
