Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Is California ready to leave the union yet? I like California. Washington is nice too, maybe they can leave. What about the north east, surely they're thinking about getting out too?
I don't see why we can't break up. We could get closer to Europe that way too. We would want to for protection from the crazy Reds.
Seriously, we can't function like this forever can we?

The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

It's not crazy, we are too different to pretend this isn't going to end in disaster. Let's break up in a controlled way rather than the unmanaged insanity sure to come.

Just rejig the constitution and devolve power to the individual states. Go back to more of an Article of Confederation deal than a constitutional republic. Let citizenship be a reciprocal deal between states, like concealed carry is now. Keep the rednecks out of California and the vegan pussy hat brigade out of South Georgia. I'll stay down here somewheres.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

That works too, provided they want us.

But 'Ms Ford's testimony' was a mere tactic.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 11:33 amThe more I think about this the more uncomfortable I get. Mr Kavanaugh has some serious questions to answer about his temperament, character and political independence - while his performance at the hearing Thursday reflected none of those personal and necessary qualities in a good light. But thing that makes me feel most uncomfortable in not so much the whole shameful three-ring-circus of it all, with senators of each stripe taking turns to act as ringmaster, but the eagerness with which Ms Ford's testimony was reduced to a mere "tactic" and then dismissed on that basis.
Also, I find no reason to disbelieve her testimony.
I hope you see how both could be true.
On another note, what is the government doing now while we are all watching the sex-show?

Nevertheless, tactic or not, he shows poor leadership qualities.

minimize, minimize, minimize
Where is the great sympathy? The stuff that just made his heart ache for the incel?
This woman approached her senator, not the other way around.
She wants to stop his appointment and the fact that her senator's goals align with hers does not reduce her efforts to a mere tactic. But you don't focus on that. Nope, she's dismissed, a mere artifact, an accident, a pawn.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
I saw this video the other day. It seems to me to be a show for the media and the public. An upset woman confronts the Senator. However, this kind of thing goes to the heart of what is wrong with so many people's thinking on this. This woman, if her outrage is to be believed, thinks that if Dr. Ford's allegations are not concluded to be true (in fact, not assumed to be true) then it says something about her own allegations regarding the incident that she reports happened to her.
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

This cutesy "professor" already admitted that she wasn't even aware of the 'party', Kavanaugh, or anything significant. So she has no "100%" recollection of the events.
All her allegations came to light after psycho-babble 'recovered memories'. More like recovered bullshit lubricated with liberal amounts of $$$ and pandering to her ego. She was already a committed and active ultra liberal fascisnista.
Her alibi is so full of holes that it's a see-through fashion dress for her rave parties.
