Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Well, she knows nothing would have come of it, guilty or not, at lower judge levels. Probably well over 50% of judges are hypocrites. Never challenged.
Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Tero, as a republican, who would you choose to sit on the SC instead of Kavanaugh, and why?
Or is this just more opportunity to let everyone know you hate your own party?

It was Repubublican words you were reading, not mine. I did not put quotes but there was a link under it

Feinstein, however, manipulated this situation in a way that should be shameful. Of course, since it is just politics, there will be no shame.

Almost any Republican other than Pence or mitch mcconnel or Ryan. Someone must have law degree.
Amy Coney Barrett has the no penis advantage.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Kavanaugh's conspiracy-theory partisan tantrum and sneering responses to the Democratic senators should be enough to disqualify him. He's clearly temperamentally unsuited to be a Supreme Court justice, and unlikely to be capable of genuinely impartial decisions.

Agreed, 100%. "Leftist frenzy" from a judge who is supposed to be impartial?L'Emmerdeur wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 5:39 pmKavanaugh's conspiracy-theory partisan tantrum and sneering responses to the Democratic senators should be enough to disqualify him. It’s kind of like: Is Trump an asshole? Answer honestly, no political spin about holy causes etc.

What's with the constant nose wrinkling? Anybody have an idea what that's all about

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

"So many"? It's only you and him. He's a troll, and you are dishonest as fuck. People like you two don't deserve respect.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
The Trump effect. We will see nothing but this for two years. Trump’s Art of The Deal.

Washington (CNN) — The 21 members of the Senate Judiciary Committee voted 11-10 on Friday to move Judge Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the full Senate. All Republicans senators voted yes and all Democrats voted no. Sen. Jeff Flake called for a one-week delay in Kavanaugh's nomination vote so that an FBI investigation can occur.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
I don't think the best way to fix the system is to roll it back to a previous state. That system is what eventually led to this mess in the first place. IMO, the root cause of all this toxicity and divisiveness is that natural polarization that emerges from first past the post, winner take all voting. See: Duverger's law. I think runoff or ranked voting would allow for more parties to enter the mix and thereby reduce some of the polarization. Of course, proportional representation would be even better, but that would require rebuilding the system from the ground up, which will never happen because too many of us think the founders were infallible and that US is already the greatest nation god ever created.laklak wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 3:30 pmI looked Sasse up, he's quite conservative. Pro-life, pro-gun (not that that's a bad thing in my mind), anti-Obamacare. However, he was the first GOP senator to publicly declare he wouldn't support Trump as the party nominee, and in his other views he seems to be a constitutionalist of some stripe. Not somebody I'd be likely to support, but that doesn't detract from the truth of his speech.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Sasse is some kind of president wannabee. We don’t like him here but so far he is NOT WORSE than the other Senator who was one of the people pushing Betsy DeVoss
