Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Ford wants Mark Judge to be called so he can remember dates that she can't remember. I guess he's supposed to remember dates that are irrelevant to him from 36 years ago, but she doesn't have to. She was then asked if X date was when she took the polygraph test and she said that she didn't remember, it was just the date on which she flew from A to B.
Now the Democrats, who were bleating about how Ford shouldn't be subjected to a row of old men questioning her about this, are upset that a professional, female lawyer is asking questions. They are asking why the Senate Committee is not doing their constitutional job of grilling Ford themselves. They are so full of shit, man. Fucking jerks.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
The date is irrelevant. He assaulted her a specific summer. Judge will not testify unless dragged to the senate.
If the FBI is called in, they will narrow it to 1-2 months.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
So my news feed says that Republicans are lining up to declare Kavanaugh acquitted.

Only takes the 50. Excuses
1 Ford got the wrong teen boy
Or
2 it was just horse play, she was not being raped

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
It seems like there is an effort to slow things down. I wonder if anyone would stand to gain by such delays...
Re: Kavanaugh hearing
They didn't mention the rape gangs. That Avenetti guy must be late getting to the meeting...

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
No worries. President Elizabeth Warren or Kamala Harris can stack the court with 2 liberal judges in 2021. Then have Kavenaugh impeached.
Re: Kavanaugh hearing
That's it! Hope for the future
So even if the investigation doesn't yield any evidence of wrongdoing, you will still think of Kavanaugh as guilty?
I hope you never face a fake accusation, with that kind of karma waiting to land on you.

I think they should get a better candidate. This is a job interview so no jail for Brett. He can keep banning abortion at a lower level.
Do you think the government has jurisdiction inside a woman’s uterus? I want the judges and senators out of there. It’s private.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
It's not irrelevant, because when it happened is important from a standpoint of falsifying the assertion. These things can be thought of much like claims and proof that atheists and skeptics are used to addressing. A vague and ambiguous claim is impossible to disprove. Such claims are called "unfalsifiable." I.e., we can't do anything with them. It's untestable.
By narrowing the dates down, Ford would allow Kavanaugh the courtesy of being able to see if he was on vacation in Bora Bora at the time, or if he has some other alibi.
In her testimony, she said this was a highly traumatic experience at the time. She went home in a state. She hid the matter consciously from her parents and it traumatized her "episodically" ever since. Yet she doesn't remember whose house it was in? (so we can check) She doesn't remember when? (so we can check).
Same thing with Julie Swetnick. If what happened to Swetnick is true, it's war crime level stuff. Concerted conspiracy to drug and rape teenage girls under the age of 18! But, when you look through the allegations, it's just enough to be serious, but not enough to verify a single thing about it.
It's fine if you don't want Kavanaugh on the bench. I don't want him on the bench - over his political and judicial views. I'd prefer someone else, but the conduct of the Democrats in this is so abysmal, so outrageous, that I really think he needs to be confirmed just to set the tone that this kind of behavior is not going to work.
Think of it --
Democrat nominee say - Sidney R. Thomas from the Ninth Circuit.
A staunch Republican woman who knew him in high school comes out and says that in their first law job together, in around 1980 - when he was an associate attorney there - he inappropriately touched her in the office - he came on to her when they were alone in a private office, and he pushed her up against the wall, kissed her, and she struggled - he tried again and she pushed him, and then she wriggled away and escaped. She was shaken at the time, scared, and she grabbed her coat and ran to her car. She did not tell anyone at the office - she did not report it to HR - she did not call the police - she did not do anything. It traumatized her episodically.
Right before he is confirmed, Jay Sekulow makes an announcement that this woman is claiming to have been assaulted. Not sure exactly when. Not sure which office. And she never told anyone about it. Her legal bills are being funded by the Koch Brothers.
Please, tell me you would not be skeptical of her allegations. Would you "believe" her? Would he have to be jettisoned because of his dick waggling past?
What do you think?

If the allegations of Julie Swetnick are believed, as anyone but a rape apologist must, he should be in jail, no?Tero wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 6:26 pmI think they should get a better candidate. This is a job interview so no jail for Brett. He can keep banning abortion at a lower level.

And, if the allegations disqualify him from SCOTUS, don't they disqualify him from serving on the Circuit Court of Appeals? That's the second highest court in the country - appointed with advice and consent.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
It has no official status. Judges like lawyers can be disbarred, like Clinton.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
I’m not a big fan of the supreme court. They should be able to rule on laws being within the constitution. But things like Bush Florida vote count and most cases like gay wedding cakes can be decided at local level. So yes, in this one case I’mnot a federalist. Using rules from horse and buggy days should be clarified.

Redditt plus WP
To Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) Ford offered some ways in which the time frame of Judge’s employment might be ascertained by the committee: perhaps “through employment records or the IRS or anything,” she said.
There’s a better source, as it turns out: Judge’s book, “Wasted: Tales of a Gen X Drunk,” published in 1997.
In one passage, beginning on Page 92, Judge describes his time working at a grocery store in the context of his drinking problem. Emphasis added.
It was the summer before senior year, and by now, even though I wasn’t drinking every day, I was completely hooked. Going a week without getting drunk was unthinkable. I was spending between four and seven nights with the gang, either at a party or at O’Rourke’s.
Elsewhere in the book, Judge describes one of his acquaintances at the time, someone named “Bart O’Kavanaugh,” who vomited in a car after a party.
Of course, alcoholics also get into all kinds of trouble because of their drinking. When they supersede their own tolerance, they suffer catastrophic hangovers. These can make getting through the day an Olympic event. This was never more evident to me than when, to raise money for football camp, I spent a few weeks working as a bag boy at the local supermarket.
