I wish they could find a black, lesbian, one-legged, HIV positive, conservative, pro-life, pro-gun woman. Oh, the dramaz that would spark, eh?
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
The reason for designating the female prosecutor as the questioner is to give Blasey Ford what she wanted. She wanted protections - and the protections she's getting include a smaller room, with far fewer people than regular witnesses get. Fewer cameras. No peanut gallery (no chanting protesters in the room - a bit of respect not afforded anyone else). Fewer reporters. And, a single person asking questions, not a row of "old crotchety MEN" ganging up on her like Kavanaugh at a 1982 high school party.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Thu Sep 27, 2018 1:33 pmIs this a trial, and if so who's the defendant, Ford or Kavanaugh? The Republicans have hired a prosecutor, so I guess it's Ford.
Look - women aren't babies. People make serious allegations about a lot of things in a lot of contexts. When they do, their allegations are tested because everyone knows that some people are lying. Some people are wrong. Some people are mistaken. Some people are nuts. This is not different in cases of sexual assault allegations. In most cases where one person accuses another of any wrongful conduct, most of the accusers are telling the truth. Most people who are arrested are properly arrested. This whole idea that we have to believe accusers of sexual related conduct because most such accusers are telling the truth is a red herring, because the fact that most accusers (of any crime) tell the truth (as they saw it and remember it) doesn't mean we conclude that reality is in conformity with the accusation.
In any accusation that is decades old, whether it's an allegation of lying, cheating, stealing, adulter, attempted murder, robbery, larceny, breaking and entering, kidnapping, false imprisonment, false arrest, embezzlement, fraud, bribery, extortion, illegal gambling, suborning murder, whatever - if any allegation of any crime is made from 35 years ago by the alleged victim, nobody is just going to accept it at face value unless proved otherwise. At least, it's unreasonable to do so. If someone said anything like that about Kavanaugh -- "hey! 33 years ago he was the Treasurer for the Yale Young Republicans Club and he stole $100,000 out of the treasurer, and never paid it back!" -- that would certainly be a relevant allegation - theft/embezzlement of that size is a serious felony that would result in years in jail, and goes to honesty and truth telling (lack thereof). Is the allegation enough? No, of course not. What would be one of the first questions asked? Why didn't you report it back then? Right? And, if the accuser's accusations were that he didn't remember for sure which year it occurred, and wasn't aware of who would know the details to prove the embezzlement/theft --- and person he did name as having been involved in the club and saw Kavanaugh do it responded with "I have no fucking clue what you're talking about," then people might be decidedly skeptical - and ad to that the timing of the allegation coming out now, with the backers/financiers of the accuser being politically opposed to the nomination.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Kavanaugh left no record or legend of dick waggling at parties, did he? If so, what?
The woman conservative second in line to Kavanauch is Amy Kony Barrett, and after reading her judicial positions and personal beliefs, I bet dollars-to-donuts you'd vote for Kavanaugh over her in a heartbeat. But, I heard a younger Amy Kony was in charge of dropping qualudes into girls' drinks at the high school rape gang parties, so she's out too.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Were you at any parties with Blasey 36 years ago?
I don't remember being at parties with her, no.
Is it possible you were at a party with her, and you don't remember?
Well, of course, I don't remember everyone that was at every high school party 36 years ago.
So, it's possible you ware at the same party. Aha!
And so and so says you were a sloppy black-out drunk at parties! Do you dispute that?
Yes, I dispute that. I drank in high school, yes, but I wasn't a black out drunk.
Aha! Kavanaugh admits he may have been at parties with Blasey 36 years ago, and he drank in high school!
CNN's usual incisive reporting....

Didn't the creepy porn lawyer have a few more witnesses? That could change things for Kavanaugh...

Yes. But Senate will not go through all the dick waggling. Up to the Senate but not likely before election. If it drags to January, yes.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
Don't minimize it as dick waggling. Creepy porn lawyer has claims of life-sentence felonies - 20 years to life for drugging women, raping them, suborning rape, conspiracy to commit rape, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, kidnapping, false imprisonment, conspiracies to commit same, assault, battery, etc. - the rape claims have no statute of limitations. If there are witnesses, then Creepy Porn Lawyer should have already advised his client to file police reports now and file direct reports to the FBI as well, and let law enforcement proceed.
Those allegations are not merely related to confirmation hearings. He could be confirmed, and then later arrested for these allegations, tried, and put in prison for, effectively, the rest of his life, if, indeed, he helped distribute drugs, stood in rape lines, raped young girls, conspired to create these parties, etc. Given the number of people her statement alludes to being present, and the number of times she was present, for these parties, there would be many many witnesses still alive and available to testify.
Also, it appears she herself knowingly attended 9 parties at least at which she knew at the time that rape gangs were drugging and serving grain alcohol to underage girls and she herself did nothing, said nothing, reported nothing. Not until she herself became a victim - after which, she did not attend, but still did nothing to help the many many girls who were being raped and who she knew were being raped at at party after party.

Ford was 15, possibly near 16 when assaulted. She was driven home from the party by unknown person. She shortly after got a drivers license.

Swetnick was in college. Swetnick is Creepy Porn Lawyer's last ditch effort.

Re: Kavanaugh hearing
The guy was a participant in regular rape-parties, pulling trains on underage girls who'd been drugged and slipped Mickeys of grain alcohol, and when he wasn't doing that, he was groping and assaulting and battering women in general. He'd get blackout drunk and rape women. This is not coming out now, immediately before his to be confirmed for the SCOTUS, for any particular political purpose. The Democrat financiers and activists handling the "witnesses" have no axe to grind or political victory to gain. All they want to do is ensure that justice is done.
