Everything you didn't want to know about Trump and were not afraid to ask
Re: Everything you didn't want to know about Trump and were not afraid to ask
I really don't know how I'm going to explain Trump to future generations. I'm not sure how I can tell them about the time the World's most powerful nation made an absolute fool of themselves on the World stage. How do I even begin to describe how over 60 million people collectively embarrassed and humiliated their country?

The US has form in this arena. Ronald Reagan got elected then re-elected, after all. Admittedly, Trump's astoundingly ham-handed approach to the presidency almost makes Reagan look like a decent president in comparison, but the fact is that the American electorate has regularly shown itself to be not particularly astute in its choices for chief executive.
On the other hand, a steady diet of self-aggrandizing lies can eventually prove unsatisfactory. The UN General Assembly isn't the only entity that's balking at swallowing bombastic baloney.

As he gears up for a difficult midterm election, President Donald Trump has campaigned on a record of massive accomplishments: a nuke deal with North Korea, the death of Obamacare and a sweeping tax reform package that has benefited America’s middle class.
Much of it is Trumpian embellishment. And a new Ipsos poll conducted for The Daily Beast shows that the public, simply put, isn’t buying it.
In the poll, only six percent of respondents said they believe North Korea had “destroyed its stockpile of nuclear weapons in the last year;” 68 percent said the country had not; and 26 percent said they don’t know. Trump has claimed that North Korea is “no longer a nuclear threat” though international inspectors say it is still building its arsenal. Those who have not bought the president’s line include his fellow Republicans, 66 percent of whom said that North Korea had, in fact, not destroyed its stockpile.
[Etc.]

6% of the U.S. believes North Korea destroyed their nukes? Why?
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Because they had been manipulated into believing that NK had any "nukes" to destroy to begin with.

Lol, so Trumpy's correct, they're not a threat?
OK that would be pretty funny.

Someone eventually gets nuked right? I've always felt like it's inevitable.

The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Never fear, the question about who gets nukes is whether Iran will manage to glass Tel Aviv (muslims would never do that to Jerusalem), or if the israelis will do it to some Iranian location as a show of meaning business...Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 4:33 amSomeone eventually gets nuked right? Re: Everything you didn't want to know about Trump and were not afraid to ask
They are not a threat because NK never had nuclear warheads that they could pack into a missile and dispatch in the general direction of an enemy. I'm sure North Korean scientists were working on making a nuclear bomb small enough to fit (and I bet they still are), but even if they eventually manage, success is still a few years into the future.
Then there is the matter of the missiles themselves. There has been a lot of talk what NK's rockets are capable of. "could reach most of the contiguous US" and stuff like that. On examination of actual test flights the picture looks not as threatening. Here are data regarding the three most successful ones undertaken to date:
How those missiles might have performed with a full payload is another matter.

It is the level of respect shown to republican voters which is damaging the democrats chances the most.
They don't even have a platform to offer this time around, except 'Fuck Trump'. And that is their MOST creative minds at work.
The hilarious thing isn't the fact that he will be reelected in 2020, the really hilarity will be when his son wins a future presidency. I do hope I still get to read your pearls of wisdom when that happens.

Well, people who could nominate, and then actually elect, the like of frump deserve a negative amount of respect, if that were possible.

You're the one in charge of explaining current events to future generations?Animavore wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 2:42 amI really don't know how I'm going to explain Trump to future generations. “When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

So you are suggesting a one-party system?
Very 'left' of you.

NO, I'm suggesting a system with fairly educated, responsible voters, where a toxic personality like frump would never have had a snowball's chance in hell, also, I'd rather advocate MULTI party systems, one party and two party ones are both toxic... (and I'm thinking of Britain as well as of the USA when I say two party is toxic... frack, even France lived on a mostly 2 party system from 1981 to 2002, and the third party candidate got to the 2nd round so disgusted were the voters with the official 2 main ones, nearly opening a fascist era in this fair land)
