Eddie has a fabulous touch. It cannot be denied. Music isn't sport.

Back to Zappa, Steve Vai did get to play the same parts for about 30 seconds on What’s New in Baltimore at the start of the song.

I played that track and it’s sort of buried under marimba and synth. Steve Vai got featured more on the live YCDTOSA Vol 5. It has the same song as well as Moggio, similar stuff.

“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

Frank didn't have the technical virtuosity of Steve Vai, but in my humble opinion, he is up there with Hendrix and Clapton as one of the true originals and geniuses of the instrument - and was more creative than Clapton.
