Re: The End of NATO
You know something? I'm tired of you SD and your constant criticism of everything to do with the UK - and much else besides. Are you just a grumpy old guy with nothing better to do than sit and complain all day about how shit everything is except in your own little Dutch bubble.
I'm bowing out of these tiresome squabbles.

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Re: The End of NATO
why would we? US LNG is more expensive than Russian gas, and we have our own factories to produce the materiel cheaper than we'd buy it from Americz... here's FN and H&K, and Herstal and other local companies that can compete better.

Re: The End of NATO
Because of
Trump will actually threaten and bully you to make you, and you will capitulate.
Because if you don't Trump might just pull the bulk of US troops out of Europe. Which would force the EU to immediately buy large amounts of arms, far more than can be domestically produced. Russian piped gas to a militarily weak EU..... hello US LNG
So, you either arm up and buy US LNG because Trump is telling you to OR you arm up and buy US LNG because you have no choice since the US pulled it's troops out. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, but you will damn well do what Trump wants

Re: The End of NATO
Hope he does pull all American troops out of Europe. It would not force anything of the sort. Christ what a pitiful little mind.

Re: The End of NATO
If he pulls out all those troops how is he going to justify the military budget to congress?

Re: The End of NATO
And that is the crux of the matter. It's impossible to justify the insane military budget unless you have insane military expenses. This is one reason the Libertarian Party is opposed by pretty much every Big Money interest, including the U.S. military establishment. If we stopped fucking about in other countries' business we might not need 10 carrier strike groups or the two largest air forces in the world.
The other reason Libertarians are not taken seriously is we're mostly batshit crazy, dope smoking, anarchist leaning, survivalist gun nuts.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Re: The End of NATO
No future US President would ever move significant amounts of troops back to EU if Trump pulls them out. If Trump decides to do it, it's permanent.Svartalf wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 1:47 pmthat's not the way to conclude commercial agreements, frump is there for 4 easly years, 8 at most, he can spend them all in NK for the flying continental fucks given to his exigencies.Tyrannical wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 1:24 pmBecause of

No Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, or Elizabeth Warren would move tens of thousands of troops back to Europe.

What would Rome do? Build the biggest Army and Navy and make Mexico Europe pay for it. Well, every country that relies on international trade that doesn't have the world's ONLY Navy that isn't a joke. Ensuring the safety of international ship trade is surely worth a modest 1.5% of the World's GDP as a US tax.

Re: The End of NATO
so we'd have to rebuild our sorely diminished militaries... but for that, the US would lose about as much goodwill as UK has squandered when whingeing over every EU policy and with the recent brexit debacle.Tyrannical wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 2:16 pmNo future US President would ever move significant amounts of troops back to EU if Trump pulls them out. I must have something crazy in my eyes, because I think I just read you suggesting that America hold global maritime trade hostage to Trump's will.Tyrannical wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 2:25 pmEveryone knows what Jesus would do...... and it's boring.laklak wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 2:13 pmAnd that is the crux of the matter.
