Movies of the awful kind we've looked upon

Post by Sean Hayden » Thu May 24, 2018 9:37 pm

A.I. this could be the worst movie I've ever seen. It seemed like it was dreamt up while editing. --avoid it

I shouldn't post in this thread. It would be like a life-long teetotaller choosing his least favourite gin... :tea:

Yeah, I watched this last week. It was embarrassingly bad.

It's the sort of film that should only be watched on betamax.

I nearly always read reviews before I waste my time watching a film I'm not going to like. This pays off and means I will have extra time to spare at the end of my life to watch a couple more films. Logical innit?

I think Alex Cross is the worst film I've seen in the last decade. Imagine something as sordid and nasty as Se7en, but without an ounce of that film's pedigree and class, shoehorned into a PG-13 rating, populated by B-list actors given a script so witless, it makes Sex And The City 2 look like The Seventh Seal.

Reading Animavore's opinions are valuable. If he likes a movie I know better than to waste my time on it.

The HBO remake of Fahrenheit 451. It's terrible. If you've seen Francois Truffaut's 1966 version, do NOT watch the remake. If you haven't seen the 1966 version, watch it.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

How do you guys get HBO in the US? Does it come bundled with other services, or do you have to subscribe to it directly? We don't seem to get it over here. Well, it's not on Netflix or SBS. Maybe it could be on Stan which is the only other viable streaming service in Australia.

In a similar vein, the 2008 remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still, with Keanu Reeves. Lots of actors I like making an unforgivably tedious and incoherent sci fi drama.

You can get it bundled with your cable or satellite subscription, or subscribe directly via internet. We've got it through the cable provider, but are thinking of cutting the cord and going with streaming only. Nothing worth watching on cable anyway.

Oh look at all those accolades! "Scariest movie ever!" "This generations The Exorcist."

:hilarious:

I've never seen a movie subvert itself so laughably. What started off as a creepy and unnerving and rather good movie descends quickly into hilarity. The theatre was in fits of giggles by the end. I heard comments like, "What the fuck was that?" and "Waste of two hours" as we were leaving.
