One of my sister's dogs, A German shepherd, had some digestive problems. I can't remember the specifics, but the dog finished up living quite happily without meat for over 15 years. One of his major food items was schinkenbrot. My sister would buy half a dozen, or so, at a time.

Yes, ham = Schinken. Schinkenbrot is the bread you eat with ham, but it does not come with ham any more so than insect repellent comes with insects. The pic I provided was meant to illustrate the fact; You buy the Schinkenbrot without the ham. Of course nothing nothing stops you from eating it with ham you purchased separately. Then again, nothing forces you to eat it with ham, anything else, or anything at all either.
