Well, naturally he rubbished them, because he's talking about tendencies and overall statistics - averages. Does the average woman beat the average man? Not, "can we find one?" But he has been given examples (by me) of sports which women seem to overall or on average tend to do better than men. I'm going through the posts here to see what he's done with that information.

You mentioned dance and skating. Both of those are out of my area of understanding. A dancer would probably know, but I don't know enough about it. To me, those look like they aren't a good example, because they don't compete fairly.

I've heard the old joke that Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did - but backward, in high heels. Sounds impressive (IS impressive) but as I recall, in dance, usually the sexes have different expectations in most cases.

If they competed against each other, it could be a good example, but I don't know of one where it happens. As a matter of fact, I don't think I have ever seen a woman lift a man overhead in dance or ice-dancing. If it happens, it's rare.

Just take the first link you posted. It's me RESPONDING to Sean's tone policing. He's saying that the "OP is shitty" and therefore it's o.k. to be shitty to and personally attack Cunt. My opposition to that, and my pointing out that it's not Cunt but Sean and others - like you - who are not discussing the topic civilly (because they're discussing Cunt's alleged motive, not the topic itself, and personally attacking Cunt).

Only you could take my argument against your and Sean's derail into Cunt's intent, and personal attacks against Cunt, to be "tone policing."

If I were tone policing, I'd be saying that your discussion of the topic at hand was not done with the proper niceties and in the right tone of voice. I'm not doing that. Still no examples, but LOTS of people irritated by their inability to understand the difference between a single example, and a field dominated.

Let me offer a reverse example. Powerlifting is completely dominated by men. The top woman would likely be about 60-70% (performance-wise) of the top man. This is a field clearly dominated by men, and pretty much unattainable to women.

So can you find a sport where women hold the same kind of commanding lead?

Or even a regular, slightly less dramatic lead?

Powerlifting, by the way, is open to everyone. Weights are standard, and women are not prevented from participating. Nothing in the way of their dominating this field except superior athletes (men) crowding the upper reaches.

It's pretty much a total sausage-fest in the higher weights. With men being allowed to change into women by fiat, this may change, but at the moment, it is clear.
