Queen

I've always loved Queen but I tend to be one of those people who doesn't actually listen to music very much, i prefer to watch something rather than just listen. however after getting a new phone i decided to upload some music onto it. And I have been listening to tonnes of Queen - not the singles but all the early album stuff. Some of it is just so fantastic - their first 6 albums really have some absolute gems on them.

Is anyone else here a Queen fan and if so are there any particular songs you like?

One of my favourites that has been for a long, long time is Drowse

I do have quite a varied musical range, I like indie stuff and rock - all the usual bands - The Killers etc, lots of classical music- I am particularly fond of Sibelius and Tchaikovsky, and pretty much anything half decent ranging from Buddy Holly to a bit of Madge, Lady Gaga, Marilyn Manson

Just thought i would start a thread on Queen and see if anyone wanted to upload any of their favourite tracks. I will put a link to Drowse on when i can access Youtube from home.

That was "The Fairy Fella's Masterstroke." Very chaotic. I first got into Queen with "Queen". I was in Sicily, land of hash and acid, so Queen came along at a perfect time. I have all their albums on my computer.

it says in the album somewhere it's inspired by a poainting by Richard dadd - apparently it's a strange painitng to see - it's almost 3d and took the guy years to finish. I think the artist went a bit mad too.. in fact he may have painted it in prison/asylum..

One of my favourites that has been for a long, long time is Drowse

I love Queen, but I lost interest with them after Jazz. There were a few songs I liked by them here and there after that, but it just wasn't the same. Up until and including Jazz, though, I'd have to say Queen was one of the finest rock bands around.
And "Drowse" has always been one of my very favorite of their songs. In fact I tend to think A Day at the Races was their finest hour.

Drowse is real class. Roger's songs are always about bumming around, partying or boy racer stuff lol

I know what you mean aabout the later albums, I still like all their stuff but their later albums don't have the completeness that their early albums have - where it all fits together. I was going through their early albums and picking off all the songs i liked and it was pretty much EVERY song off every album up to NoTW.

Of their later stuff I think A Kind of Magic album is pretty good stuff and ""It's a Hard Life is one of my favourite songs and videos..Innuendo was more like an early Queen album...
