Yes, when you make cheeky jokes, you "say" them.
Brian Peacock wrote: But he wasn't being light-hearted when he said that Democrats where un-American was he? On that he seemed deathly serious. Whether joking or not, that kind of rhetoric has a distinctly authoritarian flavour to it.

I don't like that rhetoric, but when they sat on their hands and didn't even clap for excellent news, to celebrate the good events, it does seem as if they are a bunch of sour pusses. Chuck Schumer glared at Trump the whole time, playing for the camera, with a sly "I see through you" glint. Pelosi was disgustingly tonguing her dentures with a lemon face. Their strategy, of showing how much they oppose trump by not smiling or clapping ever just really made them look bad, and came across as if they were not concerned so much with the US having good news, and more concerned just with their own partisanship.

And it's a little silly to think that anyone is really offended by that talk. Bernie Sanders called Republicans unAmerican for not agreeing with his polices. Other politicians have called Trump himself un-American.
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

They can go back and forth as needed for illegal immigrant type of jobs. And the idiot wants a wall. It will be harder for them to go back!

That would stop supply and demand working. If they were not illegal, there would be no demand for them. Now they can be paid below minimum wage.

WaPo: America is resisting Trump’s onslaught. Just don’t get cocky.
I was a lifelong Republican until the day after Trump’s election, but I now agree with the centrist writers Benjamin Wittes and Jonathan Rauch when they call for voters to support Democrats “mindlessly and mechanically,” because “the Republican Party, as an institution, has become a danger to the rule of law and the integrity of our democracy.

I think they're both a danger to your "democracy" (while accepting that the Repubs are a bigger threat). Nothing short of a revolution is going sort the mess that is your country's politics out.

It's become rather mundane, but I suppose worth briefly noting that another of the 'best people in the world' has come stumbling off President Bogus's dismal carousel.

'Ex-Wife Of Top White House Aide Rob Porter Says She Told The FBI About Abuse'
An ex-wife of the White House staff secretary who resigned Wednesday after revelations of domestic abuse, said Thursday in a televised interview that she told the FBI about the abuse more than a year ago.

Jennifer Willoughby, the second ex-wife of Rob Porter, told CNN she was interviewed by the FBI last year as part of a background check for Porter to obtain a security clearance for his position in the White House.

Porter was a top aide to Trump, traveling on Air Force One with the president and frequently advising him in the White House. As staff secretary, his main role was to approve everything that went to the president's desk in the Oval Office.

In order to get a security clearance for a high-level position in the White House, Porter would had to undergo a thorough background check. On Thursday, White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah said Porter's background investigation was "ongoing" and that "his clearance was never denied."
He worked with documents at the highest levels of classification for over a year, but his background check was 'ongoing'? I wonder if that's how they're describing Jared Kushner's background check too, given that he still hasn't got any security clearance. 'Uh, we're still checking.'

How can democracy be under threat when it does not exist. America has only an election system but nothing to do with democracy.

Hence the quotes around democracy.

This is who Trump put in charge of the EPA.

[quote="The_Piper";p="2613482"]Climate research scientist and nobel laureate Scott Pruitt said:
“We know humans have most flourished during times of what? Warming trends,” Pruitt said. “I think there are assumptions made that because the climate is warming, that that necessarily is a bad thing. Do we really know what the ideal surface temperature should be in the year 2100, in the year 2018? That is fairly arrogant, for us to think we know exactly what it should be in 2100.”

Again proving Noam Chomsky right that this Republican party is the most dangerous ever. If you don't think this is disturbing you're either ignorant, stupid, or worse, a callous individual who cares nothing for the future because it's not seen as your problem.

And to think I unintentionally saw a post, which was quoted, wondering why people are so abrasive towards Trump and his supporters. It's because they wilfully paved a way for a government which will throw its own people under a bus for short term gains and to stick it to "SJWs".

Yeah. You showed them.

Nearly a million less rapists now. Did they walk back? Drive? Swim?
Fox:
There were approximately 5.6 million "unauthorized immigrants" from Mexico by 2016, according to data from the Pew Research Center. That number has decreased from 6.4 million in 2009
