One does not escape the clutches of Greater Prussia quite so easily.

David 'the Brexit bulldog' Davis let slip yesterday that MPs will get a chance to vote on the final negotiated Brexit deal, but only once the UK has left the European Union. No, really.

:funny:

David Davis at risk of contempt over Brexit reports, says Speaker

The House of Commons Speaker has ordered David Davis to appear in front of the Brexit select committee within days or face the prospect of being held in contempt of parliament.

John Bercow warned the Brexit secretary that no engagements should take precedence over showing respect to parliament as the Speaker pledged to “do my duty” in the face of angry representations from MPs.

A string of opposition politicians, and some Conservatives, expressed fury that reports outlining the potential impact of Brexit on 58 sectors had been heavily edited before Davis handed them over to the committee.

They argued that Davis – and as such Theresa May’s government – had chosen to ignore a binding and unanimous vote by MPs demanding that the information be handed over in full. ...

..and there's more...
Hmm. :tea:

There is apparently been agreement about the amount the UK will pay the EU. The money Boris said the EU could whistle for.

Brexit: Britain set to agree divorce bill with EU that could cost up to £45bn
British and European Union negotiators have reached a deal in principle on the Brexit “divorce bill” that could see the UK paying some £45bn.

Sources in Brussels suggested to The Independent that talks have seen the two sides’ stances begin to align over the “methodology” for calculating the settlement, with the outcome increasingly acceptable to both sides.

If given the backing of Jean-Claude Juncker and the Prime Minister at a meeting on Monday the deal would help clear the way for EU leaders to agree to move Brexit talks on to trade at a crunch December council summit.
Of course there are still the two other points to be agreed upon and the EU27 have to agree to this as well.

As of March 2017 the UK has a debt of nearly £1.7 trillion. What's another 45 billion, especially if it is not going to be paid immediately in one fell swoop, especially since its 2017/8 budget alone is forecast by the treasurer to add another £56 billion to the debt?

It's no big deal. We pay stuff in and we get stuff out.
If we are to continue to get stuff out, then it won't be a problem paying in.

You never get to see the whole deal, even a summary. You just get headlines, designed to mislead, as usual.

If there's a two year transition period, when we continue to get stuff out, then that has to be paid for.
They seem to have gone quiet on that score.

The EU negotiators are busting a gut to APPEAR as if they are driving a hard bargain. They have fat salaries to justify, and other splitters to deter.

But the pound jumped quite a bit today. The markets know what's going on.

No, it didn't. You're being inconsistent. The pound did not jump. The US dollar and the Euro dropped. Especially the Euro. It went from 0.898 all the way down to 0.882! :razzle:
