"Look at the campaign [Trump] ran. Look at the intentional courting, both on the one hand all of these white supremacist, white nationalist groups like that, anti-Semitic groups, and then look on the other hand the repeated failure to step up and condemn, denounce, silence, put to bed, all of those different efforts just like we saw yesterday, and this is not hard," he continued.
“But to be honest, this is not about Donald Trump," Signer added.
"I think this is about the United States of America, it’s about Virginia, it’s about Charlottesville.”
Signer in a separate interview said it's time for the white nationalist movement to come to an end.
"The time has come for this to stop. This should be a turning point. This movement jumped the shark, and it happened yesterday," he said on NBC's "Meet The Press. People are dying, and I do think that it's now on the president and on all of us to say enough is enough. This movement has run its course."

But is that really enough to strangle the open and rational discussion our democracies are founded upon? Surely we need to do more to disenfranchise the subhuman trash who don't agree with our righteous agenda of totalitarian social reform and force acts of violence.Rum wrote:Let's fix the language a bit shall we? I disagree. The lunatic far-left all but dictates the terms of the debate in campuses all across North America and is very busy indoctrinating the student bodies with their rabid ideology that dictates the dehumanizing and disenfranchising of any and all opposition to that ideology. Their preaching is deliberately antithetical to open and rational discussion - you tow the party line or you're branded and made a pariah, or worse. They only wish to silence and abuse the opposition. They wish to strip them of their humanity, strip them of legitimacy, and strip them of their voice in society. What's more they do so through the use of post-truth tactics which have no regard for the verity of the claims made in their rhetoric - they only care for the emotional effect of it - if it moves the people in the direction they wish.laklak wrote:It was only a matter of time and I blame the media. The Lunatic Fringe of the far left gets way too much publicity. They really don't amount to a pile of shit in the greater scheme of things, but if you watch or read the news they're EVERYWHERE! Bubba Earl and Jimmy Bob are a'gettin' theyselves all worked up, and eventually, like good rednecks everywhere, they gonna open a can of whup-ass on somebody or t'other. Of course the anti-fa idiots didn't help, if they'd just let the morons alone they'd have had their parade and gone home to their Bud Light, but they had to Take A Stand against fascism and all that.
If you think this is restricted to college and university campuses then you need to pull your head out of your neurotic ass. It's omnipresent in the left in general.

I know you are responding with humour of course, but the reality is that nearly al the shit is owned by a tiny percentage of the population. Most of that shit was in effect stolen. One day people will ask for it back - and they won't ask nicely.Śiva wrote:But is that really enough to strangle the open and rational discussion our democracies are founded upon? Maybe I just don't ever see them, only hear about it on the news. But I mostly hang around dope smoking, rum drinking boat people. Politics takes a back seat to discussions about bilge pumps and the best way to clean isinglass. I just can't get myself all het up over the antics and idiocy of either the Loony Left or the Rank Right. The world is full of assholes, and nothing to be done about it. This is why it is best viewed from an offshore anchorage with an adult beverage in hand.
Fuck em, they'll grow up some day. All those horrible middle managers and capitalist running dog pig fucker CEOs? Back in the day they were wearing tie-dyed Grateful Dead shirts and stickin' it to the man, man! Ho, Ho, Ho Chi Minh! Come the Revolution, man, it will ALL change! Uh huh, tell me more. Then Reality set in, with a capital "R". No more disdain for filthy, middle-class money, in fact, filthy, middle-class money became the single most important driving factor in their sad little corporate lives.
These millennials, who think they're SO special and SO original and SO different, will find out that they're pretty much exactly the same as every other fool that came down the pike before them, in other words, common as muck and nothing very special at all. I await, with great anticipation, their total disillusionment when The Real World eats their fucking lunch.

Here's a good example of the ignorance of white supremacists:
"Alt-right commentator claims Romans weren't ethnically diverse, gets owned by actual historian"
The slack-jawed goons of the 'alt-right' will be supplying plenty of material for this thread.
If you're going to pick a fight with someone over ancient Roman facts, arguing with a historian is probably not the best course of action.
Infowars editor at large and right-wing YouTuber Paul Joseph Watson recently tweeted an insinuation that Roman Britain wasn’t ethnically diverse.
A bit of a bizarre claim to make out of the blue, but the reason for his outage stemmed from a five-and-a-half minute BBC educational YouTube video on what life was like in Roman Britain.
The video, aimed at supporting teachers, is suitable for 7 to 11 year-olds and details what life was like for a typical family during the Roman period.

The cartoon that accompanies the video features everything from gladiator battles, the purpose of Hadrian's wall and the religious make up of Roman society.
It also features a series of ethnically diverse characters, which is what appeared to anger the Infowars host, who implied that the BBC didn't care about 'historical accuracy'.
It was following these claims of historical inaccuracy that historian Mike Stuchbery stepped in.
In a series of hugely informative tweets, he described how Roman Britain was ethnically diverse “almost by design”.
He explains that Roman troops were drawn from other parts of the empire, and occupied Britain.

Bullshit, the vast majority of violence has come from the left and the liberals, Antifa and BLM. You're even apologists for Islamic violence and I'm just surprised how much restraint the right has and especially the far right has been so far.Hermit wrote:Well, the publicity the media provided certainly did not help.laklak wrote:It was only a matter of time and I blame the media.

Apparently the right-wing rally was to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E Lee from a university. I must admit that the action seems to be a bit PC - he is a historical figure, usually (unlike Nathan Bedford Forrest) not linked to the racist right...
