I know this is Young Turks but it does expose Trumps absolutely total ignorance:

So I was thinking. Trump, famously, owns the Mar-a-Lago resort, which according to its website is a private members' club which "provides the highest privileges and an elite lifestyle reserved for a select few." In his visits as president Mr Trump uses taxpayers' money to purchase services to facilitate government operations during his stay there - people have to be housed, fed and watered, have their rooms cleaned and their clothes laundered, be entertained, etc. The American people are essentially paying Trump to buy services from himself. As the article points out, the terms of his decidedly non-blind, non-independent trust means it basically amounts to a private slush fund - or a 'piggy bank' as they put it - for the personal use of Trump and his family and which, by supporting his trips to his own resort, the taxpayer is unwittingly contributing to.

I'm at a loss to think of any reason, or any excuse, why this doesn't amount to profiteering from the presidency.

I think the American public know this. His supporters either don't care or have invested themselves so much into the cult they don't want egg on their face (read When Prophecy Fails for reference) so they are doubling down on defending this turd. This, of course, shows their inconsistency and lack of integrity, and might even hint that all their moral outrage at Hilary for apparent corruption was either fake or they were simply whipped into a mindless "Two Minutes of Hate" style frenzy while attending the megachurch - I mean - Trump rallies.

There's quite a few posts on Facebook encouraging people to request free tickets for Trumps next rally and then not showing up. The link to do that is here.

Now who would do such a thing?

Trump tax cuts can only be a quick fix
It’s unclear whether the White House will overhaul the tax code or limit itself to tax cuts.

Reform means reducing some taxes while eliminating other breaks to pay for the reductions and to simplify the code.

Tax cuts could be easier, because this wouldn’t involve picking winners and losers and angering lobbyists.

But tax cuts that add to the deficit could be more difficult to pass under congressional rules than revenue-neutral tax reform.

If congressional Republicans want to pass a tax bill under budget reconciliation in order to avoid a filibuster, the bill cannot increase the deficit outside of the 10-year budget window. That means tax cuts that lower revenue would need Democratic support or would need to expire.

Cohn said at an event Thursday that the administration “would like to have permanence to tax.”

But Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said on “Fox News Sunday” that the administration hasn’t decided yet whether it wants tax reform to be revenue neutral and that “you can either have a small tax cut that’s permanent or a large tax cut that is short term.”

One of the main reasons why wages growth is slow-to-low-to-no is not that corporate taxes are high but that shareholders take so much out of companies. In the 70s shareholders took c.10% of profits each year whereas today they reap c.70% per quarter. In the current climate, which even sees shareholders voting for companies to borrow in order to maintain dividends, I suspect a massive tax-cut-handout to business will only increase dividends and executive pay, not reinvestment or regular workers' salaries.
