Anyway, do you think journalists should be legally compelled to reveal their sources?
No. However, the lack of legal obligation to reveal sources does not increase the credibility to be given to vague reports garnered from "unnamed sources." We have to look carefully at what is being said in each instance, and determine how specific and how credible the report sounds.

A "military official" could be anybody in the military - it could be someone who had nothing at all to do with the mission itself. And, what they "reported" was only paraphrased in the article, not quoted. Reporters often get it wrong when paraphrasing - they tweak meaning, and push an agenda. Even when acting innocently, they get it wrong often enough to raise our skepticism antennae.

Here, the assertion set forth in the article just doesn't make any sense. Trump supposedly went off half-cocked and just ordered a mission when there wasn't enough intelligence, planning an backup. However, the article says farther down that Centcom does the planning, intelligence and backup. It wouldn't be for the President to know if it's enough. So, did Trump hear Centcom say that the mission wasn't ready, and he said "aww, fuck it man, just go in and kill dem muthafuggahs!!!?" The article doesn't say that.

The article is ridiculous, and the author should be ashamed of herself.

LOL - hilarious. First, the Univision reporter was out of line. Why does he get to speak first? All the reporters there want to be heard. Should they all stand up and start asking questions at the same time? Are they all to fight like crabs in a bucket?

And, the reporter didn't ask a question. He was making a speech. You can hear the speech - you can't do this, and you can't do that, and you can't do this. That's not a question. That reporter stood up to grandstand, and to provoke a response.

Also, what's with Cenk and his squinty face snark about "are you the press going to take this sitting down?" After 8 years of the way they behaved toward Obama, Cenk expects them to stand up and be tough guys asking tough, hard-nosed questions now? NOW they are going to hold the Executive to account? NOW they're going to be the ultimate check and balance against the President? What a laugh. For eight years the press have been fawning supplicants, tossing the President's salad whenever he deigned to grace them with an occasional press conference.... but NOW they should stand up and give Trump no quarter? What a joke.

NAFFTA :{D
Obviously, just ask Mexico and Canada... I'm just not sure they'll agree with frump about what is 'fair'
The position of the Left and mainstream Democratic beliefs have been that, since its enactment, NAFTA was a big mistake and was very unfair. It's only now that Trump says it's unfair, that the Left and the Democrats are declaring that NAFTA is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and because Mexico and Canada don't agree with Trump that it's unfair, now it's no longer unfair.

Here are how Democrats in the House of Representatives voted on free trade agreements --
The US-Colombia FTA -- 158 voted no, 31 voted yes
US - Panama FTA - 123 voted no, 66 yes
US - Korea FTA - 130 voted no, 59 voted yes

Regarding NAFTA - House Democrats voted against it 156 to 102. Republicans supported it 132 to 43. The Democrats in the Senate were evenly split. Republicans overwhelmingly supported all the Free Trade Agreements.

The Unions opposed NAFTA -- https://www.theguardian.com/business/20 ... stop-nafta

And, the Washington Post just fact checked the notion that NAFTA was a Democratic thing - https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fac ... 3a9aa84da6 -- Pinnocchios to those folks who say that Democrats didn't oppose NAFTA. Most of them did!!!

Weren't they right?

The Univision reporter? Yes.

He was rude and presumptuous, demanding to be the first out of a room full of reporters to ask questions. Demanding priority over a room full of people, all of whom have agreed to proceed in an orderly fashion to ask questions one by one, and not to grandstand and take commandeer the floor.

You honestly read that and considered it a "good" article?

Alt right alt facts: foreigners are terrorists

Wiki
Alt-right and far-right organizations
"Alt-right" groups including white nationalists, anti-Semites, Men's Rights Activists (MRA) and the Klu Klux Klan praised the executive order.[295][296] The neo-Nazi website, the Daily Stormer, was "ecstatic" over the immigration ban.[297] The Southern Poverty Law Center (SLPC) reported that Andrew Anglin of the Daily Stormer advocated for the arrest of Judge Ann Donnelly, who issued a temporary stay on some of the executive order's provisions.[298]

LOL - and the Communist Party supports what the Democrats do. Look - just because some extremist groups like some policy of one or the other of the mainstream parties does not mean that the mainstream parties are like the extremist groups. The Democrat Party is not the Communist Party, but the Communist Party endorses the Democrat Party. So what?

More fucking lies.
One of Donald Trump’s advisors has attempted to justify his ban on travel from seven predominantly Muslim countries by citing an entirely fabricated terrorist attack.

Kellyanne Conway then went on to complain that no media covered the made-up attack.

Speaking on MSNBC on Thursday night, Conway said:

“I bet it’s brand-new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalised and were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre. Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered.”

She clarified that she was referring to the two Bowling Green terrorists, who were from Iraq, and were indicted, one is serving life in prison. This just more jumped up faux outrage over semantic issues.
