Bugger. Finding this thread is taking longer than I thought. Because as part of the measures to save hits on the database, the forum search facility at RDF has been replaced with a Google search. Which is nowhere near as specific (I can't limit searches to particular forum subsections or particular authors anymore), and sometimes leads me on a wild goose chase.

Okay...my opinion on the Moon Landing Woo has completely changed. At first I wanted to claw my eyes out. Now, I think this is the best thread I've ever seen. I'm only 5 pages in, and it seemed that the story was starting to dry up...but then boom! Okay...my opinion on the Moon Landing Woo has completely changed. At first I wanted to claw my eyes out. Now, I think this is the best thread I've ever seen. I'm only 5 pages in, and it seemed that the story was starting to dry up...but then boom! Actually, the consensus of opinion with respect to that tosser is that he's a deranged tool. He's basically unloaded his soiled intellectual nappies all over that thread, and given us a trifecta into the bargain. He's actually competing with Robert Byers with respect to the business of making up whatever shit tickles his erogenous zones, again applying the principle of "make up whatever shit is momentarily apologetically convenient, regardless of whether it's consistent with the previous made up shit", though he's slightly better on the literacy front (not that this is difficult - my tropical fish are probably more literate than Byers for fuck's sake).

However, apart from the fact that I've thrown peer reviewed scientific papers at him, only to have them bounce off his fucking tinfoil hat, the clincher for me was when he tried to claim that the Russians were somehow "duped" by NASA. What a total fucktard. He wants us all to believe that a rival nuclear superpower with its own manned spaceflight technology was somehow "duped" by a Capricorn One style hoax? A rival nuclear superpower that moreover, was at the time an implacable ideological enemy of the USA, and which would have capitalised ruthlessly upon exposing such a hoax? A rival nuclear superpower that, in addition, funded lavishly one of the world's largest military intelligence arms, equipped with its own spy satellites and thousands of spies on the ground, which at the time was headed by none other than arch-manipulator and arch-hardman Yuri Andropov, the man who organised the ruthless suppression of dissent in Hungary and Czechoslovakia? If he thinks this shit is anything other than beneath deserving of a point of view, then he has lime jelly inside his cranium where the rest of us have brain cells.

I'm totally caught up on that thread now. It just didn't stop. I don't understand how all that evidence seemed to simply brush past him. He basically ignored everything, or responded in some cookie cutter fashion. Honestly, if I hear about the undeniablility of the hoax one more time, I will rage. I feel for you, subjecting yourself to that nonsense. Also, who seriously considers sites who have that damn 'space' background from the early 90's? I do wish that I had something to contribute, as I envy your ability to throw down huge amounts of knowledge at a moments notice. If you don't mind my asking, how long have you been in the scientific field? I fancy myself a fairly adept university student, but you wield science with such deftness and grace that it is both intimidating and inspiring. Even within my concentration area (4th year biology/pre-medicine) you seem to be at a level that I can't even resolve. Sorry if I sound like a fan boy, but I do have that Carl Sagan esque love of science. Who needs art?
