Trump and Putin could always have a meeting...

Just like Hitler and Stalin.

That ended really well, too... :tea:

Wired:
In the sweep of American history, this is Alexander Hamilton versus Thomas Jefferson flipped on its head. The Framers designed the Electoral College to make sure that smaller states were not ruled by the tyranny of the majority. Today, rural voters wield disproportionate Electoral College power compared with population centers, while cities preach decentralization as a way of keeping a check on the executive branch.

“The votes of my constituents count a third of the votes of a Wyoming resident,” said US representative Zoe Lofgren (D-California) at Conyers’ forum. “The majority are being ruled by the minority.”

Guess it's time for this ... possibly the best commentary on Trump's election you'll ever see

From Robert Reich (in light of the above - not the Third... ;) ) on facebook in relation to the revelation that the CIA has concluded there was Russian involvement in trying to swing the election towards Trump:
In Federalist No. 68, Alexander Hamilton wrote that a major purpose of the Electoral College was to stop the “desire in foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils.” He said that the College would “Guard against all danger of this sort … with the most provident and judicious attention” from the electors.”

The CIA report must be made public immediately and the Electors of 2016 should take careful note.

How the left accepts the results of the election, recognizing that failing to accept the election results is a direct threat to the very foundations of our democracy --

It's checks and balances. If congress fails to act on Russia hacking future elections, then we don't have that anymore. Anyone can barge in and grab the whole thing.

Republicans giddy about turning away 300 000 in Wisconsin
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... story.html

Opponents say that the laws were designed to target people more likely to vote Democratic.

Last week, during the federal trial on Wisconsin’s voter-ID law, a former Republican staffer testified that GOP senators were “giddy” about the idea that the state’s 2011 voter-ID law might keep Democrats, particularly minorities in Milwaukee, from voting and help them win at the polls. “They were politically frothing at the mouth,” said the aide, Todd Allbaugh.

..and by that you mean anyone could expose the electorate to the awful, awful, truth about a candidate. Yes, clearly checks and balances against truth need to be reinforced. The American public must see only what each candidate wishes them to see. Good to see the true nature of the American left come out as they continue to parrot their ill-conceived propaganda in bad faith. :tea:

Amazing how much bullshit you can spout. "Russia hacking future elections". Which end does it come from? Russia has nothing to do with it. It's a distraction, so that people like you never ask what was in the emails... you simply whine that it's unfair that they are out in the light.
Millions of votes were mis-allocated by the hacking done to the electronic voting machines & fractional magic system of the central computers. In other words, that, together with the illegal unregistered voters & multiple voters made it look as if Killington has an extra few million.
The email 'hacks' were actually routine surveillance done by the NSA. And truthers in the USA secret services leaked the relevant emails to WikiLeaks:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mGR0p216ms

Then, add Seth Rich, a Clinton staffer who was shot 4 times in the back on a busy street. Assange confirms that he was one of the leakers to WikiLeaks. Only gullible buffoons, or those who are paid; "Useful Idiots" in the language of Lenin, can't see what has been going on in Dracula's Castle:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZMiptxm_R8

And dozens of others are victims of the Killington Crime Cabal. And you are a cheerleader for them? :nono:

It was a close election with the 2.8 million vote loser winning using rural states. Between Putin, Comey, gerrymandering and Humana's Weiner problem, Hillary's Pennsylvania vote was lost.
Millions of votes were mis-allocated by the hacking done to the electronic voting machins & fractional magic system of the central computers.

You need to disabuse yourself of this ridiculous notion that Russia was acting altruistic. Oh right, their goal was to further American democracy...

I've asked before, what does gerrymandering have to do with the Presidential election?
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Well, for one, the Republicans man the polling stations. So they can scrap any vote that is off the checked box or does not "read" right when fed to the optical reader. And they make sure every republican votes. Back in 2012 thousands of blacks were left outside when the polling stations closed. Republican run things in all battleground states. The electoral college does not run according to any districts but the two states that split votes do have districts.

Also, if the election ever went to Congress again, the house is gerrymandered. If the electors failed to pick a winner.
