We saw this again and again during the campaign: Trump would get criticized by someone like Khizr Khan or Alicia Machado, and instead of just brushing it off like someone with a modicum of sense or class would do, he’d get into an extended battle with them. He’s so petty and insecure that he simply can’t help himself, even when it’s doing him political damage. And now that he’s about to become president, nothing has changed.
When he starts making policy announcements by tweet then it'll be time to worry. He's not teh Prez yet, and as a private citizen he's free to make as much of an arse of himself as anyone else.
Time to worry lol
Trump will make daily tweets and two minute you tube videos.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

R Stone:
We know Trump nominated for attorney general a man the Senate refused to confirm as a federal judge for being too racist in 1986, a year when it was still openly debated whether apartheid was all that bad.

Add it all up, and what do you see? A child who reacts to the slightest perceived attack with vicious vitriol. A vengeful president who is willing to violate basic rights. A government run by incompetents, racists, bullies and conspiracy-mongers.

Forty Two wrote:Oh stop it with your fucking nonsense. "Slimy debating techniques" - fuck off.

No, they don't make whistles.
That was one example of your slimy debating techniques. An attempt to ridicule an opposing argument with absurd hyperbole.
Forty Two wrote:the point is that it's not about picking up factories and moving them to the US.
And that's another. You wilfully change what I said with some injudicious quote mining. In this case you left out the underlined bit, to give the meaning of what I also said a completely different cast: "The US could not create the infrastructure or provide the people with the relevant skill sets to move the means of production from China to the US." See? It's pretty obvious that I was not talking about physically moving factories, once the missing words are reinstated along the ones you quotemined. Only by using this slimy trick could you pretend I was talking about "picking up factories and moving them to the US". The latter quote consists of your words, not mine, and they do not reflect the meaning of mine. Slimy indeed.
Forty Two wrote:That's mischaracterizing what needs to be done.
The irony is palpable.

Once upon a time you argued positions I disagreed with intelligently. I actually enjoyed discussing them with you. Since around the time you abandoned your Coito ergo sum account and started this new one where you adopted the alias of Forty Two you, keep resorting to slimy debating techniques. Pity.

How about you lefty/libtards follow this advice.

"It becomes increasingly clear as time goes on that we need a progressive reformation.

Wait a minute. Why just the progressives? Why not the conservatives? Anyone wanting a conservative reformation certainly has my blessing and best wishes. Really. Good luck with that. But that's not my thing. I'll stick to the lefties for now, because that's my world. That's what I'm familiar with. Plus, I think the left really should strive for a higher standard of intellectual and moral honesty. To be honest, I expect dishonesty and opportunism from the right. Rationalizing abuses of power and obscene concentrations of wealth and denying the harmful effects of these is a major aspect of what right wing politics has been demonstrably about for as long as I can remember. Witnessing the waxing of dishonesty and opportunism of liberal activism over the last several years has been especially unnerving.

So without further ado then, here are my theses:"

Yeah, I thought not, after all you are a bunch of anti-science, reality denialist self loathing gimps and cucks.

One contractor alone, manufacturing the hardware for Apple, employs 150,000 people in China for the contracts. One of its factories has a workforce of 60,000. Where in the US would you locate it? 60,000 is more than Detroit employs in what is left of the local car industry.
It's not about moving factories from China to the US. It's about building business and industry here. We don't have to manufacture party hats and plastic whistles here in the US to have a strong manufacturing sector.
Apple's 150,000 workers make party hats and plastic whistles?

And don't pretend you don't understand what I meant with moving the means of production from China to the US. Your slimy debating techniques are wearing a bit thin.
Oh stop it with your fucking nonsense. "Slimy debating techniques" - fuck off.

No, they don't make whistles - but the point is that it's not about picking up factories and moving them to the US. That's mischaracterizing what needs to be done. What we need is to stop the constant loss of manufacturing and industry -- and to have some increases in heavy industry and manufacturing sectors so that we can shore up our industrial base.
Renewable technologies is where the future is. Something which both Merka and Straya seem to have mostly missed the boat on to Chermany and Chaina thanks to the old dinosaurs running our shows.

Closing their trading links will push up inflation, and harm exports. It's not win win. It's win lose.
Win little, lose big.
And America's debt suddenly gets more and more expensive to service. And less and less attractive to hold.
Trump hasn't talked about "closing" trading links. He's talked about opening them.
Slapping up tariffs doesn't "open" trading links.

You can't just "write off" US bonds - they're like the holy grail of the global economy and the reason the US holds the position it does as economic leader of the world.
Ha ha. Trump recognizes Taiwan. China makes dumb threat, China out trillions at the stroke of a pen. Europe smells easy money and does the same thing. Even small countries like Canada and Australia would make a few hundred billions by seizing Chinese assets.
Your ideas are even more retarded than usual. Writing off Chinese debt obligations would destroy the US bond market and the world economy with it. :fp:

Who gives a fuck, any globalist twat who moves their business to a third world country to exploit third world conditions, fuck them, impose a thousand percent import tariff for all I care. At least first world countries have some worker's rights. Globalist capitalist can fuck the fuck off, civic nationalists is the way forward. Either give Western workers a job or fuck your product up your arse and fuck off.

Well, that would be the end of the icon of US innovation, Apple, the US car industry and most of the nation's major corporations then.

Who gives a fuck,
Those of us who can reason give a fuck. When someone says Trump is opening trading links by tearing up trade agreements and slapping up tariffs, reason dictates that we point out the error in that thinking.
