Humans 'don't have 10 years' left thanks to climate change - scientist

There's no point trying to fight climate change - we'll all be dead in the next decade and there's nothing we can do to stop it, a visiting scientist claims.

Guy McPherson, a biology professor at the University of Arizona, says the human destruction of our own habitat is leading towards the world's sixth mass extinction.

Instead of fighting, he says we should just embrace it and live life while we can.

"It's locked down, it's been locked in for a long time - we're in the midst of our sixth mass extinction," he told Paul Henry on Thursday.

But Professor James Renwick, a climate scientist at Victoria University, says people should not use his words more as an excuse to give up.

Global warming warriors constantly bombard the world with the message that the effects of warming will be disaster all round. Without any balance or evidence.
So people who don't agree feel free to do the same. Fighting bias with bias.

But whereas the alarmist side pretend that they KNOW what the outcome of warming would be, the denialist side just likes to keep it sarcastic, to highlight the lack of evidence coming from the other side.

No, it's because we know that climate change is an ongoing natural process largely unaffected by mankind and that anthropogenic global warming (now Alinsky-rebranded as "climate change") is a giant fraud with a much more nefarious and evil objective that has nothing whatever to do with global warming or the environment.

I much prefer global warming to global cooling. I'm fine with global warming. It's perfectly natural for the globe to warm. It's perfectly natural for the globe to cool. It's been doing both for billions of years.
