Unfortunately for many it just isn't fun. I grew up with a lot of guys that used it constantly and it made them paranoid and self-conscious. Personally, I like to ride the introspection train. But I've made peace with my faults.
As for making you lazy, a lot of that depends on what you're using. Nobody thinks THC alone makes the high anymore. The range of experiences available through different varieties is impressive.

Anxiety and paranoia - that's what it did to me in the end. A mild but very disturbing bout of cannabis psychosis I suspect. That's why I stopped using it.
I never gave it up. My dealer had both his legs broken and gave up the business, and so I've just been out for the last 20 years.
