I would very much like to see a United States of Europe. Small minded little Englanders, nationalists, bigots and people with little or no imagination would have us all retreating into out own little cosy huddles, into patriotism, fear of the outsider - to looking inwards, to the exclusion of the foreigner. Inclusion is progressive and forward thinking.

Thought we might trade with the rest of the world if we weren't in the EU? the EU which is a larger less accountable form of nationalism.

Another myth. We and the EU already do. We have joint agreements of various and complex kinds of course. But in any case it isn't just about trade..or shoudn't be.

Yes the Brexiters have so many myths. Real facts they do not like one bit. They keep on spouting those myths with their fingers in their ears. They make up the biggest lies possible as Fatty Johnstone did about the EU being the same as Hitler. They think Britain will just slip out of the EU but everything will remain the same. I will tell one simple truth and that is out is out.

Every financial institution has warned against it but gits like Johnstone, Smith, Cove and Garage says it is not true. It will be a disaster resulting in the break up of the UK which I think secretly is what the Brexiters want. A Little England run by the 1% would suit those gits very much thank you.

Anyway what ever happens I will be remaining (TG!).

Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European commission, has said that the UK will not get friendly treatment from the EU if it votes to leave. In an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde, asked how Brussels would respond to a Leave vote, Juncker said:

Deserters will not be welcomed with open arms.

If the British say no - which I hope they will not - community life will not carry on as before. The United Kingdom will have to accept being considered as a third party, which does not have its hair stroked in the right direction.

Juncker’s “hair stroked in the right direction” metaphor is an unusual one. Perhaps he had someone in mind ...
