Heathen! I say we need to bring back unlimited length cricket Test Matches. Even the 9-day test match was too short! :lay:

And the eight-ball-over. And Willis' 10 mile delivery run. And Dickie Bird. And Alan McGilvray. And Long-sleeved creams. Knock those fucking light towers down and get rid of the helmets.

Indeed, though baseball is over in a flash.

I wouldn't know, all those games lack the slightest appeal and interest to me, despite my having unsuccessfully tried to understand them

It's easy to understand. Baseball is the game such that, if it is perfectly played, nothing ever happens and it never ends.

Basketball pre-dates netball.

Just thought you should avail yourself of some facts :)

1967: De Gaulle says 'non' to Britain - again
The French President, Charles de Gaulle, has for a second time said he will veto Britain's application to join the Common Market.

He warned France's five partners in the European Economic Community (EEC) that if they tried to impose British membership on France it would result in the break-up of the community.

All five - Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy and Germany - have said they would support negotiations towards British membership.

Only France remains opposed.

It does in name. But the first basketball was actually much more like the modern netball than basketball. There was no backboard, and dribbling was not allowed. So the modern game of basketball WAS derived from a game very like modern netball.

So countries should act like immature adults and sulk about real and imagined wrongs from half a century ago? That attitude mixed with testosterone and psychopathic leaders gets us in the sort of mess the world is in these days!
