Elysium. Good movie albeit spoilt by the violence which prevented my wife watching more than half of it. Doesn't bother me - nothing much does these days. I'm prepared for Armageddon - my stomach is Armageddon fortified.

Turner, the half demented gropist of art. Great scenery but no real story. A sad reminder that the masses have poor taste when it comes to movies.

Watched Insurgency and then Hotel Rwanda. Couldn't defy reality for long. Preferred the Hotel to be honest.

A book is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return.

Just watched James and the Giant Peach for the first time in many years. Love this film. I'd give it 4.5 stars. Woulda given it a perfect five stars if the songs were by Andy Partridge (of XTC) as was nearly the case, instead of the awful Randy Newman.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

Kung Fu Jungle. Donnie Yen still has it, for an old guy.
OK, so the story is a bit weak and much of the dialogue has HURRY UP THIS IS SOME PLOT all over it, and there's not much by way of character development, even though a nice bit of love-story and a conspicuous use of flashbacks tries to fill in some of the blanks, but this Hong-Kong Hard Boiled style police procedural wrapped around a series of immaculately choreographed and shot set pieces is a martial arts movie fans wet dream, heightened only by its inexorably sprint towards a gruelling 15 minute stand up bare-knuckled showdown. What's not to love?

Ex_Machina 3 stars, would be 4 but I didn't like the failure to resolve the questions of the movie in the ending. It didn't lend itself to a mysterious ending.
