This is why we need the death penalty...

If he was dead, as he should have been, he wouldn't have been able to escape...

US Authorities Knew ‘El Chapo’ was Planning Escape

Since 2014, U.S. federal agents learned of various plots by Mexico’s most famous drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and his people to bust out of prison. The U.S. government shared that information with Mexico yet the capo still managed to escape.

Last summer, the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration learned that El Chapo’s son Ivan Archibaldo Guzman had hired people with Mexican military backgrounds in order to plan an escape, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Citing unnamed sources within the Justice Department, the publication mentions that another plot involved bribing prison employees into helping Guzman Loera escape.

The Wall Street Journal mentions that the Guzman’s escape raises question about how U.S. law enforcement and Mexican law enforcement will continue to work together in the future.

The information comes soon after as Breitbart Texas reported Guzman Loera broke out of a Mexican maximum security prison called Altiplano through a mile-long, state-of-the-art tunnel.

Adding fire to the theory that Guzman’s escape was made possible by help from the inside, Mexican authorities have detained 30 employees at Altiplano prison and the warden for questioning.

The escape delivers a black eye to the Mexican government since his 2014 capture had been the crowning achievement of President Enrique Pena Nieto’s crime-fighting strategy.

Soon after his arrest, Pena Nieto had an interview in Spanish with Univision where he said that his government would take every step necessary to ensure that Guzman doesn’t escape from prison a second time.

“That would be unforgivable,” Pena Nieto said in that interview.

Guzman had initially been captured in 1993 near the border with Guatemala, where his cartel has had a strong presence. He had been sent to the Altiplano prison where years later he managed to escape, apparently using a laundry cart.

Since his first escape Guzman took the Sinaloa Cartel and turned it into one of the most powerful criminal empires in the world.

When you reveal your method of bringing innocent people back from the dead, when they are wrongly convicted and executed, then you might have a case.

But even then, besides the wrongly convicted, you also have the grey area of responsibility that arises in many cases that result in the death penalty. It's often not clear-cut.

Like the Texas man who shot the hooker in the back for attempting to leave without fucking, after he had paid her. I would have voted to execute him. The jury didn't even think he'd done anything wrong.

Find a perfect system, and I'm all for the death penalty. But the only perfect system that I can think of is me making the decision.

One improvement they could make immediately, is for the jury to be able to specify no option of the death penalty. And that should be binding on the judge and subsequent appeals.
Because the thought that someone might get death, very often sways a jury to acquit, when it's close, and guilty people can go free because of it.
If that's already the case, then it's a good thing.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

I approve the death penalty if the prisomer prefers it to life in prison.

The fix was in on this one. a mile long, lighted, ventilated tunnel (with a motorcycle!) dug into a maximum security prison? A bunch of Mexican government officials are car and boat shopping, you can bet on that.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

 Yeah, we need to kill people because prison officials can't be trusted.

Some people, like this one, yes. No question of his guilt at all and he was a known escape risk, therefore the only appropriate way to keep him from escaping is to execute him.

And everyone at that prison should be sent to prison to serve his sentence as well for allowing him to escape.

But, it's Mexico, so nothing will happen.

However, the CIA should locate him and we should dump a JDAM on him and kill everyone within a thousand feet of him just for being around him.

Don't want to get killed? Don't hang around with drug lords.

 Yeah, we need to kill innocent people to teach people that being a criminal is a bad thing.

I don't think a JDAM can be that discriminating.

Typical weird Seth logic. A prisoner in Mexico escapes due to corrupt Mexican guards, and that is an argument for the USA to kill people. Duh!!

If they are innocent, don't kill them.
But what if we don't kill the innocent, and they escape, and then we find out they were guilty all along!!1!!
