I watched the Irish animated film
Song of the Sea yesterday. Loved it because it was sad and beautiful, and sad in a way that American films would never dare to be. Not just the story was beautiful, though. Visually, it was some of the most wonderful animation I've ever seen. Just absolutely lovely to look at.
Also watched
House at the End of the Street, a horror film starring Jennifer Lawrence. I watched the unrated, as opposed to the theatrical, version. Not sure why it was unrated. There was nothing in it that was in any way not fit for the theatrical PG-13 release. Anyway, this film was savaged by the critics and currently holds a 10% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes:

The reason I mention it here is not because it's a great film. It's not. But neither is it a horrible film, as the reviews would suggest. The reviewers, in general, seem to be disappointed that this horror film is not horrific enough. It seems to me to be more of a suspense film rather than a horror film. Taken on its own terms it succeeds well enough, I believe. And of course Jennifer Lawrence is wonderful to look at, as well as a pretty decent actress.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.
