Watched Frozen to see what all the fuss was about. Needn't have bothered, as it turns out. Christ almighty what a piece of shit film.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Nothing attracts flies like a piece of shit. Most humans are like flies. Disney excels at producing shit. This is why I was never tempted to even look at Youtube clips of Frozen. Ever since I could think for myself Disney has left me cold.

Watched Labyrinth. Thought it was retarded when I watched it many years ago. Wanted to give it another chance, particularly because I loved The Dark Crystal so much. Unfortunately my opinion hasn't changed. Still retarded.

The Man Who Wasn't There by the Coen brothers, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Frances McDormand and also featuring Scarlett Johansson. Well my goodness, finally someone who knows how to write a decent script, and actors who know how to act.

To be fair, I don't think Disney cares about either or your opinions - or mine. We're not exactly the target demographic for these kind of flicks.

There appears to be a ridiculous amount of Frozen merchandise around at the moment. The most bizarre I've seen so far is bog roll. :what:

I don't see how kids could like Frozen either. It was boring as fuck, and full of gay songs. Do kids like musicals? I don't and I never did.
The thing that saddens me the most is that it could have been a wonderful film, a really classy film. The animation was certainly gorgeous. It felt like there was may have been a great film there somewhere, but perhaps too much interference from producers or executives turned it to shit. That idiotic snowman, for instance, is jarringly out of place in this film (not to mention the absolute worst character design I've ever seen). "Needs more comic relief," some twat with a suit must have said. "Throw in a talking snowman."

Just read this about Frozen: "The Disney hit has completely dominated 2014, earning $1.27 billion worldwide and becoming the fifth-highest grossing film of all time."
The fuck? Why? I don't get it. What is the appeal? I truly don't understand. It's a shit film. Why this movie is popular even with the ignorant masses, the great unwashed, the shuffling herd, as low as their expectations are, still, I don't get it. I just don't get it

John Dies at the End. Could have maybe used a more charismatic lead actor. Dude did a good job but was a little bland. Still pretty funny, though. Owes a lot to Shaun of the Dead and the Evil Dead films, but original enough to still enjoy.

The Coen brothers had an unbroken run of hits up until this film - I loved ALL of them. Sadly, Intolerable Cruelty (which immediately followed) was a huge disappointment. And then Ladykillers... :nono:

Since then, they have made a couple of stunners (No Country for Old Men, A Serious Man) but I have lost the sense of eager anticipation that I used to have when I knew that a new Coen object was about to be unleashed. Sad that. :(

The Hobbit - The Battle of Five Armies.

Meh. Lots of epic (and very well done) CG battle scenes with absolutely no character development or interesting relationships.

Nothing to do with Tolkien either.

It's no wonder Christopher Tolkien won't let Jackson butcher The Silmarillion or Tolkien's other works

Yeah the endless battle scenes in the climax of each movie series is an idiotic concession to Hollywood type bollocks.
