What internal conflicts are there in saying, "I don't believe that a god exists"?

How does the position of not believing that a god does exist count as a religion?
It's an expression of religious faith.
Nonsense. There is no faith involved in stating that you do not believe that a god exists. There is no religion involved in stating that you do not believe that a god exists.
Seth wrote:But that's hardly all of what Atheists believe and practice that makes Atheism a religion, you see.
No, I don't,

Being an atheist is nothing more than not being a theist. There is nothing else involved in being an atheist.

Acceptance of evolution is not part of atheism. Acceptance of the Big Bang is not part of atheism. Dislike of, or antipathy towards, religion is not part of atheism. Not believing in the supernatural is not part of atheism.

There is no dogma, there are no tenets, there are no traditions or ceremonies, there are no leaders or priests, there are no holy writings, there is nothing that is sacred.

In short, it makes as much sense to say that atheism is a religion as it is to say that blue is a religion. Neither have anything in common with religion.

Also, you ignored the other question, so I'll reiterate:

What internal conflicts are there in saying, "I don't believe that a god exists"?

(and by "you" I mean Atheists collectively, not you individually...)
Because atheism is not a religion.
Perhaps, but Atheism most certainly is.
There is no such thing as "Atheism" (as differentiated from "atheism").

The only time that "atheism" should be capitalized is at the beginning of a sentence. It is not a proper noun.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Thas right. If there ain't no science to show that the tooth fairy doesn't exist then you cant say we're deluded when she tells us to tattoo our privates.
Exactly correct. Just because you don't think it's rational to tattoo your privates doesn't mean it's irrational. It just means that you have different social preferences than someone else, not that they are delusional. More importantly, as a supposedly "rational" person, you should know that the claim "the tooth fairy told me to tattoo my privates" may or may not be a literal statement. It may be allegorical, or sarcastic, or a metaphor...or someone whom the individual has reason to believe is the tooth fairy actually told him to do so. Or, the tooth fairly did tell him that.

Therefore, the only rational or logical response to a claim that appears to be outside your experience and understanding is "I don't know."

Anything else is judgmental and an example of arrogance and hubris unbefitting a rational being.
