BodyGuard "bulletproof" Blanket for shools

As an option for shootings, this is a failed idea--except as a potential moneymaker for the manufacturer and distributors.

Bodyguard™ blanket
Bullet resistant protective blanket for children and adults
Despite increased security measures in recent years, U.S. school shootings continue to rise.
Has it? Got data supporting this ProTecht?
Bodyguard™ blanket was developed and tested to specifically protect our children and teachers in the event of a school shooting. Bodyguard™ blanket is designed to be bullet resistant. It is made of the same materials our U.S. soldiers wear while in battle, and is equal to or exceeds the protection used by our police departments. After extensive research, it is estimated that Bodyguard™ blanket provides bullet resistant protection against 90% of all weapons that have been used in school shootings in the United States. We are so confident in the protective properties of Bodyguard™blanket we are encouraging every administrator to make it an integral part of school and university lockdown protocol.

Bodyguard™ blanket can be easily fastened around a child or adult, and is amazingly lightweight. When seconds count, Bodyguard™ blanket can provide a quick, simple solution for maximum protection against a school intruder.
Uh-huh.
Looking at the pictures I see some problems with this product and the claims being made.

Shoot me orange might be a bad color choice.
Walk over, flip a kid and shoot it.
Bend down and shoot under.
Sitting ducks instead of escape.
Get hold of the mat and you have physical control of the kid.

False sense of security blankets

This might work if the issue were children being caught in crossfire, but they are the targets with school shootings. Stupid people will buy these though, they don't think rationally when it comes to their kids.

It's obvious again. Ban the guns.

More guns in hands of idiots--> more shootings
