Puppy Left Traumatised After Scissors Attack

4:09pm UK, Thursday July 16, 2009
An eight-week-old puppy was left in "unspeakable agony" after his ears and tail were cut off with scissors, a rescue worker has said.

Buckley, a border collie cross Staffordshire bull terrier, was found abandoned in a school playground in Melbourne, Australia, on July 11.

He was taken to a vet for treatment to his wounds and is now being cared for by staff at the Lost Dog's Home in North Melbourne.

Shelter manager Sue Conroy said it was one of the worst cases of animal cruelty she had seen in 23 years at the centre.

"I've had staff crying," she told The Moonee Valley Leader.

Buckley is now on the mend
"The puppy would have received no anaesthetic and would have made a lot of noise.

"He would have been in unspeakable agony."

Ms Conroy said staff had treated his wounds with ointments and administered pain relief and antibiotics.

She said the puppy "was not ready to be adopted just yet".

Ms Conroy added: "Physically, he's improving slightly every day.

"His hearing will not be perfect, but he's not deaf.

"But mentally, he's is still traumatised and is hiding from people."

Why?

Who would do that?

Animal suffering is perfectly natural - no gazelle ever got an anaesthetic when being chomped on by a lion.

What I fucking hate is some cunt doing that kind of thing to any living creature - human or animal - for no reason except their own sick pleasure. That is fucking unnatural. I hope they catch the little shit and give him a damn good dose of resisting arrest.

Yes, I think that's more what I mean - the perverse, cruel things that humans inflict on animals.

Whoever did that should receive the same treatment. This makes me sick.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Poor sweet wee little feller :(

Incredibly horrible thing to do to an animal, obviously, and in addition to that, leaving the pup in a playground where children could find it adds another layer to the sick-minded cruelty. This person must be found, removed from society and given appropriate treatment* to prevent further acts of inhumanity.

*yes, I know what many people would understandably consider 'appropriate treatment' ...

Locking the person in a room with me for 10 minuets. :pissed:

I think Charlou is leaning toward the squishy, bleeding-heart liberal sort of treatment: psychological help.

If so, I'd have to side with her on this one. Prison never did anything to remediate sadism.

Poor little guy. :(

This might sound weird, but when I hear of bad things happening to people I really dont get that bothered. But when I hear about bad things happening to animals I always get choked up and real sad.

I dont know why that is or what's the difference. Suffering is suffering.

:dono:

I wish I can find the person that hurt that dog and stomp their head with my boot. :pissed:

A truly diseased mind at work here. Let's hope the toerag that did it is found, thrashed and then medicated into oblivion, before they "progress" to torturing people.

Media reports here have been all over the story. A police spokesman (obviously an animal lover) got seriously steamed. Apparently there are good leads, and they are confident of an arrest. Hundreds of people have offered to adopt him...

And from what I gather, Clinton, young people who start down this track of animal torture are indeed very likely to commit later crimes against people...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?

Aye, that's how Jeffrey Dahmer put in his apprenticeship.
