while unmarried. Some of them were adopted by rich Americans but those that were not remained in the homes. The fact that the deaths
happened over a considerable period of time - thirty five years - means that nothing was being done to prevent them and only now is this
coming to light some fifty three years later [ in the case of Galway ] and some forty years later [ in the case of Cork ] Girls were denied
medication during labour for the nuns said that suffering was their punishment and they were made to tarmac roads whilst still pregnant
One was raped by a priest and forced to have an abortion and the foetus was then buried under the floorboards

I do not glee and it would be entirely inappropriate anyway in such circumstances. I just happen to think that allowing children to die
whether out of negligence or maliciousness is morally unacceptable. Who is doing it is neither here nor there. And atheists do not have
a monopoly on morality and nor do I expect them to either but what happened in those homes was wrong full stop

Yup, that's a horrible thing for nuns to do. Bad nuns! That does not mean they were acting in accord with either Christian or Catholic belief. Bad people frequently distort and misuse Christian doctrine for their own purposes. This does not make the doctrine evil, just the individuals who do so.

Three criminal offenses in one. Catholicism does not permit rape, abortion or abuse of a corpse, therefore the individuals involved were not Catholics acting in accord with Catholic doctrine.

It wasn't just wrong, it was evil, and I agree. But those evil acts do not represent Catholic doctrine or Christianity.
