After watching three of Tarantino's films (Reservoir Dogs, Natural Born Killers, Kill Bill I)I have learnt to stay clear of them. Reservoir Dogs was good to me, NBK was OK. Kill Bill was much less of a disappointment than Death Proof. Much, much less. Compared to Kill Bill, Death Proof was kindergarten, at best. I looked it up on Wikipedia. The books have an interesting history. The author wrote the first book in response to his creative writer teacher's urgings to do something along those lines, under protest from the author. So he wrote that first book just to show his teacher just how crap such a thing would be. "See? It's rubbish!" But the teacher took one look at it and told him, "Wow. This is publishable. Being Human was streaming for free on amazon. Unfortunately I couldn't even make it through the first episode. I didn't mind that it was a character-driven show, but it was just too soap-opera-ish for my tastes. Also I was annoyed right from the start because of inexcusable egregiously retarded things like a ghost, an incorporeal being, being able to interact freely with tangible objects. She opens the door, she picks up tea cups, etc. The only thing ghostly about her is that people (sometimes) can't see her. Well why not just make her an invisible girl, then? What's the point of making the character a ghost if she's no different for all practical purposes than a normal person?

Watching episodes of Pawn Stars. It's fun to see all the cool stuff people bring in to the pawn shop, and the cast of the show are pretty funny and likable even though I'm assuming everything is scripted.
