The fact that conservatives at least officially support universal health puts them way to the left of anything in the USPsychoSerenity wrote:No, they are all very much right wing.Warren Dew wrote: I do think the Tories are pretty centrist. If you put democratic politics on a left to right scale with 1 being far left and 10 being right far right every US political party would be in the range. 9.9 to 10

Nah I think the US Democrats are at least a bit to the left of the Tories. At least they wanted to work towards a universal healthcare system. You say the conservatives officially support it, but only if you can't read between the lines. All their talk about it is "offering greater choice" to the public and healthcare professionals. And behind the scenes they're forcing the sale of it piece by piece to private companies.MrJonno wrote:The fact that conservatives at least officially support universal health puts them way to the left of anything in the USPsychoSerenity wrote:No, they are all very much right wing.Warren Dew wrote: I do think the Tories are pretty centrist. Not really. The critical bit is the ''at least officially''.MrJonno wrote: The fact that conservatives at least officially support universal health puts them way to the left of anything in the US
The conservatives pay lip-service to it, because the British PEOPLE support it. The conservatives have no option there. But while ''officially'' supporting it, they are quietly selling it off, tiny bit by tiny bit, so as not to raise the alarm with the voters.
Our conservatives are just as right wing as yours. But not ''officially'' , that's all.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
