Currently we don't have anything to carry our aircraft on though which for some people might be a but embarrassing. Planes looking for somewhere to land at sea foe example..

Well I agree with you 100%. Successive governments have been determined that we should 'punch above our weight'. Our budget for nukes alone would fix our deficit in one go.

I believe the huge dockyard crane used for assembling the components of the new aircraft carrier was hired from China as there wasn't one in the UK large enough.
