Been reading Spiegel and they are almost washing their hands of any blame for WW1. Calling it senseless and blaming, it seems, upon indirectly us, the good guys, for starting it via the Royal connections....seems we wanted to take over Europe? They'll be blaming us for WW2 and the Holocaust next....afterall the early pogroms against the Jews began in England?
That's how I've come to the conclusion.
Something rotten in the German character? Thatcher was right?

What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

The ruling aristocratic families were related to one another. In fact, Kaiser Wilhelm II, Britain's King George V and Czar Nikolai II were cousins. They called each other Willy, Nicky and George and saw each other at family events, including the wedding of the Kaiser's daughter in Berlin in 1913.
All English names....the whole piece is sly propaganda for saying we zar not responsible. And how can
celebrating Germany commemorating the War on other peoples territory be either in good taste, or given Greece, not worrisome?

The responsibility for WWI can be laid squarely at the foot of Gavrilo Princip. I'm pretty sure he wasn't German.

You must be joking. You do realise that you are reading an article written in German and translated into English, don't you? The untranslated version mentions "Willi, Nicki und Georg." And did you read on? Like when the article says: "There is little for which the British can be reproached."? and "over lunch with the Viennese ambassador, Wilhelm II issued the so-called blank check, saying that Vienna could count on his "full support," and that Franz Joseph should proceed with his attack on Serbia. The Kaiser's blank check transformed a local crisis into a European conflict. It was the German Reich's decisive contribution to the "seminal catastrophe" of the 20th century."? and "If the czar did not flinch, they preferred to attack, as long as St. Petersburg hadn't completed its military buildup. "Better now than later," was the motto of Helmuth von Moltke, chief of staff of the Prussian Army." ?

That was only the cause of the invasion of Serbia, which wasn't unjustified.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
