BNP's Nick Griffin declared bankrupt

British National Party (BNP) leader Nick Griffin MEP has been declared bankrupt.

A bankruptcy order was made at Welshpool County Court on Thursday.

Mr Griffin tweeted: "Being bankrupt does NOT prevent me being or standing as an MEP. It does free me from financial worries."

He added: "I am now turning the experience to the benefit of hard-up constituents by producing a booklet on dealing with debt."

I wouldn't be surprised if he's skint because he had to pay to keep some rumours out of the public eye. Like the rumour he's had a homosexual affair with a 16 year old half African/Half Pakistani, which I just made up.

Doesn't bode well for the BNP's economic policy if their stunted one eyed piss reeking goblin of a leader can't even control his finances. I suppose his pamphlet will blame the Jews.

He was sued into bankruptcy by the UK government. He's also not the first otherwise financially responsible person to declare bankruptcy because of legal fees from frivolous cases.

In an earlier hearing on 6th Feb 2013, Mr Griffin had been ordered to pay what amounted to nearly £120,000 in outstanding moneys and costs to Gilbert Davies & Partners of Severn Street, Welshpool who had represented Mr Griffin previously in cases including the early stages of the Equality Commission’s attempt to outlaw the party (the firm were sacked by Mr Griffin part-way through, a move which saw the case swing in his favour).

If you're not rolling in money, you would have to be mad to hire a lawyer to represent you.
Especially if you're an experienced public speaker. Lawyers are the most over-rated people on the planet.
I'm not surprised that the case went better after he sacked them. If he had any balls, he'd have handled his own case, and wouldn't be bankrupt now.

Anyway, all's well that ends well. He's bankrupt, and some lawyers didn't get their money. Result!
