New poison spray targets 'super-rats'

The Midlands has one of the biggest rat problems in the UK, with households calling pest control experts more than any other region.

In some parts of the country rats are even becoming resistant to traditional rat poison.

Scientists at the University of Aston have created a new way to control the rat population using a poison spray absorbed through the rat's skin.

That spray sounds problematic, if it gets on the black market. What are the loonies and arseholes going to do with it?

Anyway, if you can manage to entice a rat into a place where you can spray it, you might just as well use a spring-loaded trap, or spike, or some other kind of lethal force.
Or automatically block the ends of the pipe, and put it to sleep with carbon monoxide.

Or maybe provide non-lethal equipment to field mice to enable them to take on the rats.

They probably just mean spraying rubbish and routes with it so it gets absorbed through the feet.
Still problematic though, since it could concievably get migrated to other places inhabited by humans.
I used to work with pesticides and I don't trust 'em...particularly anything that can get absorbed through skin like organophosphates.

Best just issue all the local kids with an air pistol each and pay them by the tail.
