Well, given that we define the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that stimulates our retina as light, then certainly the varying wavelengths within it correlate with the gradations of visual perception we label as colour. Just to split a hair: In physics, "light" refers to any wavelength in the spectrum, not just "visible light".
