That changes nothing. All it does is shift the payment from one recipient to another; from the insurance company to the government in the form of higher overall taxes necessary to pay for it all. TANSTAAFL dude, TANSTAAFL.

The reason Obamacare is preferable to single-payer socialized medicine is that you can at least switch providers if you're dissatisfied with the service, which leaves a small element of free-market pressure to keep costs low and provide good service. That of course assumes that in a year or two or three there will be any private insurers in the business at all, which I doubt.

You see, the whole point of Obamacare is to exterminate the private health care industry by making it impossible for them to make a profit by larding up the government requirements for mandatory services that people don't want or need (on an individual basis) so that down the road shortly the Progressives will be able to claim that a "health care emergency" exists because no private insurance company is willing to offer anyone a remotely affordable policy that meets the government requirements. So when the private industry exits the scene because it's no longer profitable the Progressives and Marxists in government will force government-run socialized medicine on everyone under this "emergency" rubric that they themselves deliberately created.

Other than Canada, most countries do not ban private healthcare. A Finnish doctor can even refer you to Estonia for a cheaper clinic. He can work for the state and himself the same week.

You can have a hip now or a free Gubment hip, same quality, in 2 years.
