Hey collector, I got a line on ten Ares Defense Shrike 5.56 belt-fed uppers at cost, about $2400 or so. Newest version with adjustable gas block and steel feed plate. I've got all I don't need sold already...if the guy gets back to me. Any interest? My cost plus shipping.

That's a really good deal. If only I could. Although I'd have to buy some links which would be kind of a pain in the ass.

Ya know what's weird and stupid? In Colorado an empty 1917 fabric belt for an antique Maxim machine gun is an illegal "ammunition feeding device" that can hold more than ten rounds, but a 250 round belt of disintegrating link ammo by itself isn't, because each link is a separate "magazine," but if you put the linked belt in a nutsack or assault pack the plastic box itself becomes an illegal magazine.

Aren't the Colorado democrats fucking idiots?

Also, the guys at Fostech told me that if you put one of their bump-fire stocks on an AR with a Shrike upper you can out-cycle an M-16 and shoot the whole belt in one go. They demonstrated it at Knob Creek yesterday. Very cool.

A Shrike upper isn't a firearm, it's just an inanimate metal part that anybody can buy or sell without any background checks or paperwork. Only the lower receiver of the AR-15 type rifle is the "firearm" and carries the serial number.

So, no "arms" involved.

That's exactly what I was thinking actually. A belt fed AR with a bump fire stock. It would be great.

My stockpile of green tips is grossly underfunded at the moment though. With a belt fed, I'd have to step that up.

For now I'll have to keep it to Beta mags and the new 40 round Pmags.

I know a guy who knows a guy who knows another guy. Just tell him "The penguin flies at midnight", he'll sort you out.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

The part about the US National Park Service having a lawful responsibility to guard closed National Parks and monuments revealed the events in the OP as a shallow publicity stunt and gutted the thread's entire raison d'etre.
So now all the frustrated TeaBaggers can do is wank about mag dumps.

I had a magnum of a dump this morning. Must have been the refried beans last night.

I imagine you consider that a real achievement at your age! :{D

In other big and pressing news, a crowd of angry uninformed rednecks led by Sarah Palin busted through the barricades of the WWII Veterans Memorial in Washington today in another ill-conceived Tea Bag publicity stunt to demonstrate just how little they understand about the law:

DC Crowd Pushes Through Barriers to WWII Memorial
WASHINGTON October 13, 2013 (AP)

A crowd converged on the World War II Memorial on the National Mall on Sunday, pushing past barriers to protest the memorial's closing under the government shutdown.

Republican Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah, along with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, were part of the demonstrators.

Cruz and Lee are among the tea party-backed lawmakers who refused to keep the government operating unless President Barack Obama agreed to defund the nation's health care overhaul.

"Let me ask a simple question," Cruz told the crowd of hundreds that gathered beginning at 9 a.m. "Why is the federal government spending money to erect barricades to keep veterans out of this memorial?"

I'm sure these could be rigged to explode in the air, perhaps when near a surveillance drone:

Ah, the misapprehensions of youth. Not all old folks get constipated, some of us shit regularly, sometimes far too regularly. I told my doctor I take a dump every morning at 8, he thought that was great until I told him I didn't wake up till 9:30.
