If I were a President as loved by the media as BO, I am not sure i would be less open with the media, and chase down "leaks" to the point of trodding on First Amendment Freedom of the Press, threaten journalists, refuses to hold press conferences, withhold information, and utilize the IRS to attack political opponents..... well, unless I really wasn't what i pretended to be, in which case I might be very concerned of that fact getting out....
If I had CIA agents on the ground in Yemen and a Gubment employee leaked to the press, I would track it down.

This is a little bigger issue than your silly concealed weapons. Conceal and shoot each other all you like.

Because you were the first black president?

Look, tracking it down does not mean threatening journalists. If a journalist asks BO administration official "who do you have on the ground in yemen?" And, if the BO official answers, the reporter has not done anything wrong and has a first amendment right to print. See US Supreme Court Pentagon Papers Case. Under Obama, they'd be raiding the homes and offices of New York Times reporters, and not just prosecuting Daniel Ellsberg.

My silly concealed weapons? What does that mean?

You can throw yourself off a bridge all you like. Just make it a bridge over water, so your carcass doesn't land on a road.

Want to balance the budget? Next time don't let the Republican President cut taxes AND start a war.

Uh, yes to the first. But, you seem to have confused me with someone else regarding the "gun enthusiast" nonsense. I don't own a gun, and i never have. I've contemplated getting one, and I've talked about that here. But, am in no sense an "enthusiast"....unless a cigar aficionado could be one who never smoked a cigar.

But, when truth or lack thereof are only means to ends, it's not surprising that you care so little about the accuracy of your statements. You know what's right in the end, so who gives a fuck how you get there, right?

....because this administration adding $6 trillion dollars to the debt in 4 years is Bush's fault. Bush didn't add that much to the debt in 8 years.

You want to see spending like a teenage boy with cash in a strip joint? Give the Executive and the Legislative Branch to the Democrats at the same time. They won't miss an opportunity....

I posted this over at the other place but it pisses me off so badly I have to post it again.

So, the non-working exchanges are still not working, and it only cost us $634,320,919 to build a non-functional fucking web system. Of course the original contract was for only $93,000,000, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there were probably a few cost overruns, eh? As of 2010 the most expensive website in the entire fucking world was recovery.gov, the website built to track spending under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Irony thy name is Federal Government). It cost $18,000,000 to build. I thought that was fucking ridiculous, but this takes it to a whole new universe of incompetence and, frankly, outright theft. There is no possible way, no fucking way in heaven, earth or hell that you can spend a half a BILLION dollars on a computer system that doesn't fucking work.

I was an IT project manager for over 20 years, building insurance systems that did effectively what the exchanges do, which is to compare personal data with a set of policies and determine which are a suitable fit, do the premium calculations and track the customer. We actually went a fuck of a lot further than the exchanges do. We also did policy and claims administration, government required reporting, full double entry accounting, webmail, agent and agency administration. Our systems were multi-tiered, bringing together PCs, mobile devices, large server farms, all communicating via satellite protocol to mainframe systems and keeping 3 separate database systems in synch (MySQL on the PC, Oracle on servers and DB2 on the MF). These systems were fucking complicated, far more complex than what they're trying to pull off. I would estimate that the largest such system we built probably cost in the vicinity of $10 to 12 million all in, and we were up and running in less than 3 years from design to rollout, with a maximum staffing level of maybe 60 people.

This is unconscionable. This is blatant, in your face bullshit. They're taking the fucking piss and laughing all the way to the bank, and we the taxpayer get it up the ass with no lube AGAIN. And again, and again, and again, and the Obama cheerleaders keep crowing about what a fucking success this whole pile of festering shit is. Are they blind or just purposely obtuse? This is the sort of bullshit we have to look forward to, this is just a drop in the financial bucket. This is going to bankrupt the country, impoverish hundreds of thousands of people, and there will STILL be a huge number of uninsured Americans.

I've got most of my money offshore or in a family trust, but I can goddamned guarantee you that ALL of it is going offshore before they start seizing assets and bank accounts to pay for this boondoggle, because I guaranfuckingtee that's in the cards.

I'm sure someone will do the gymnastics necessary to make 2/3 of a billion dollars seem like "highly efficient."

Will the cost of the website be factored in to the "administrative costs" associated with healthcare now? I mean, private insurance companies have to account for the cost of their web-portals, don't they?

Funny how the self-proclaimed "fiscal conservatives" throw a juvenile tantrum and shut down the government, potentially reducing GDP, then pass a bill to retroactively pay government employees. All the while, they complain about government deficits (which are falling). Cognitive dissonance anyone?

Maybe before October 1 next year the Republicans can attach an amendment to the budget insisting that the President have Joe Biden hanged from the Truman balcony. Then they can gripe about how the Democrats refused to even consider their proposal and therefore shut the government down.

Because I honestly think that the President would sooner consider that amendment than this one to defund the ACA. It would do less damage -to the country and to the administration- than what they proposed this year.

Might actually prove popular across the board that.

I'm sure there are times Obama has wanted to do that without having to be threatened.

Perhaps. :hehe:

And it sounds like Boehner might like to do that to quite a few Republicans too. :awesome:
