Er, well, not true. The US Gov classes certain jobs as "Essential". Meaning, even if we go into a shutdown furlough, you show up and put your work in. You'll get back pay when we get the budget sorted.

To my understanding, Ian has to go in regardless and will probably receive instructions to go home after a few hours at work. I, as well, go in regardless, though I'm considered an Essential worker and so I don't get no letters.
