I'm reminded of a recent news article I read of an armless female bodybuilder. She didn't win her competition, but neither did she place last even though half her body was missing. My reaction was that her entering put the judges in an awfully uncomfortable position.

Two words: Epigamic Differentiation.

You'd have a lot to learn if you don't understand what subjective is. The question is: What do you tell people who are not homely children or bad artists? Is beauty an objective fact of mathematical certainty? Not negotiable consensus reality of a genetically transmitted archetype perhaps? Let's try an experiment. Both of us PM a third party with which of the above women we find most attractive. Then that person posts our results. What if we disagree? Who is right? How do we know?

I consider things statistically speaking on a group instead of individual basis. I'm interested in the majority or a significant minority opinion on a subject, and not the statistical outlier. So for a photo example, I'd post it on a rank how hot I am site and see what a large group of people say.

I dunno, at a certain point you reach the level of absurdity. Say you have a bodybuilder with no limbs at all. There's not much of a body to speak of. I kinda feel like you should have a complete body if you want to compete on a level playing field. Anyway, I'm also reminded of a recent news article of a transgender homecoming queen, the first, apparently. Now I have nothing against boys who like to dress up as girls. If that's their thing, whatever. But I have to wonder if this boy's classmates loved him so much and that's why they voted him homecoming queen, or if it was political correctness gone amok.

As far as the black beauty queen, I didn't think they even had black people in Alaska. Maybe, without much basis for comparison, they see her as some kind of exotic beauty?

Oh maybe at a certain point you do, but there are armless Greece-roman statues or ones of just a head and torso. I always thought of bodybuilding as a bit of a statue model competition, so if you have enough body parts to make a good looking statue I say you can win.

Um.. I've posted like 5 times in the past two and a half weeks? I rarely ever whined, though I voiced my opinion. I've also actively tried to do something to make the forum a better place for a long time. Maybe it didn't come across that way, but at least a couple people have PMed me to tell me they really enjoy reading my posts so I at least brought a little something enjoyable for a few people.

As I've said before, I find it hard to take the middle ground between people here I like and the people they've taken to openly despising. It makes being cheery, fun, cheeky, flirty, etc. into something like a chore sometimes. Basically it sucks all the enjoyment out of Ratz for me and makes the place somewhat depressing. I don't know what to do about it. Maybe there's nothing to be done or maybe it's just me that doesn't feel at home here that much anymore. Ergo convenient rationalization: Take some time away and see if things improve. Essentially isolating a variable.

Which is why I didn't make a fuss when I decided to take a hands-off approach. What I'm not doing is whining. I'm not doing nothing either.
