Hate crime: 'Still a daily reality for people in Wales'

Four out of 10 hate crime victims in Wales know their abuser, while nearly a third think about moving house to escape the crime, says a new study.

Research by Race Equality First and Cardiff University also shows that one in five of those abused (18%) considers leaving the country.

The study will feed into a new Welsh government action plan which aims to tackle incidents.

Charity Race Equality First said hate crime was a "daily reality" for many.

More than 1,800 people were surveyed and 60 victims were interviewed in a three-year research project backed by Big Lottery funding.

Hate crimes are offences against race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or transgender identity.

If the Irish,Welsh,Scottish, English, Protestants, and Catholics still have trouble getting along in the UK, importing even more diverse immigrants will only increase sectarian strife.

1. Before immigration laws are debated and passed, there are certain estimates on the number of migrants. These numbers will be drastically underestimated.

2. If more realistic estimates of immigrants numbers were used, then the immigration law would have been defeated.

3. People are resentful that they were tricked into receiving an amount of immigrants they would not have voted to allow.

4. Resentment leads to hatred and racism.
