Senator Mike Lee is running CNN ads to defund Obamacare. Who is he and is he running in 2014?
Very convincing ad: Americans don't want insurance. They don't even want healtcare.
Will there be enough hospices for the uninsured to go die in? Or will they just die in their mobile homes? They obviously have guns. Or we could run an atheist mission to rent them a gun for a day to shoot themselves.

Be ready to answer those questions and more the next time you go to the doctor, whether it’s the dermatologist or the cardiologist and no matter if the questions are unrelated to why you’re seeking medical help. And you can thank the Obama health law.
“This is nasty business,” says New York cardiologist Dr. Adam Budzikowski. He called the sex questions “insensitive, stupid and very intrusive.” He couldn’t think of an occasion when a cardiologist would need such information — but he knows he’ll be pushed to ask for it.
The president’s “reforms” aim to turn doctors into government agents, pressuring them financially to ask questions they consider inappropriate and unnecessary, and to violate their Hippocratic Oath to keep patients’ records confidential.

Are you sexually active? None of your fucking business.
Do you now or have you ever used illegal drugs? None of your fucking business.
Apparently they can't ask about firearms ownership, but if they do the answer will be....wait for it.... None of your fucking business.
Maybe NOYFB will become a recognized acronym.

Re: U.S. passes "historic" healthcare bill
This is something Americans need to learn from Russians; not to give out personal information just because somebody asks for it, even if they are an "official" with the government. It's always legitimate to ask why they want the information, what it will be used for, how it will be kept private and most importantly, what is the precise statute or regulation under which they have authority to demand an answer.laklak wrote:Are you sexually active? If they can't cite the chapter and verse, and show you a copy of the law Congress passed requiring that you answer, then tell them to go fuck themselves.
If a geek at a convenience store asks a Russian for his name, address, phone number and e-mail he's likely to get punched in the nose.
Americans have been well trained for decades to spew personal information to anyone who asks, and that's a really bad habit. It took me years to break it. I'm now "Mr. Cash" at the Supercuts. They nearly had a stroke trying to figure out how to give me a haircut when I refused to give them my phone number and address. I use "Mr. Cash" all the time now.
One other important tip, particularly for women. Never, ever show your driver's license to anyone other than a police officer during a traffic stop or to a judge at traffic court. Go to the post office and obtain a Passport Card instead. It's a credit-card sized passport good for entry and exit to Canada and Mexico only, and it's not ID for flying, but for EVERY other legal purpose it's lawful government ID. The reason to have it, especially for women, is because of what's NOT on the card that's ALWAYS on your driver's license: your home address.
Do you really want the geek at the 7-11 having your home address? Or anybody else?
Not me. Plus, it confuses the mercantile data zombies to no end when they can't figure out which slot on their computer screen the passport card ID number goes in. I had to return an item to Best Buy because it was defective and the confusion on the Geek Squad member's face was obvious. Then I told her WHY I have one and why SHE should have one and the light came on instantly and she said "What a good idea!"
Learn to Just Say No to data zombies. Be nice because it's not their fault, they're just doing as their masters command, but refuse anyway.
There is one survey that asks intrusive personal questions that we ARE required by law to answer, under penalty of a $5000 fine. That is the American Community Survey administered by the Census Bureau. Authorized in 2005, it is supposed to "fill in the gaps" between the 10 year census and it's sent out randomly to 3.5 million citizens every year. The excuse is that it is "an ongoing survey that provides data every year, giving communities the current information they need to plan investments and services" and determine how more than $400 billion in federal and state funds are distributed."
They will actually send a census worker around to question you if you don't fill out the forms, and yes, they have fined people who refuse to answer.

Re: U.S. passes "historic" healthcare bill
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/09 ... nightmare/Andy and Amy Mangione of Louisville, Ky. and their two boys are just the kind of people who should be helped by ObamaCare. But they recently got a nasty surprise in the mail.
"When I saw the letter when I came home from work," Andy said, describing the large red wording on the envelope from his insurance carrier, "(it said) 'your action required, benefit changes, act now.' Of course I opened it immediately."
It had stunning news. Insurance for the Mangiones and their two boys, which they bought on the individual market, was going to almost triple in 2014 --- from $333 a month to $965.
The insurance carrier made it clear the increase was in order to be compliant with the new health care law.
"This isn't a Cadillac plan, this isn't even a silver plan," Mangione said, referring to higher levels of coverage under ObamaCare.
"This is a high deductible plan where I'm assuming a lot of risk for my health insurance for my family. And nothing has changed, our boys are healthy-- they're young --my wife is healthy. I'm healthy, nothing in our medical history has changed to warrant a tripling of our premiums.
"Well I'm the one that does the budget,” said his wife. "Eventually I've got that coming down the pike that I gotta figure out what we're gonna cut what we're gonna do, to afford a $1,000 a month premium."
Their insurance company, Humana, declined to comment, but the notice to the Mangiones carried this paragraph:
" If your policy premium increased, you should know this isn't unique to Humana -- premium increases generally will occur industry-wide.
"Increases aren't based on your individual claims or changes in health status," it continued. "Many other factors go in to your premium including: ACA compliance, including the addition of new essential health benefits."
ACA, of course, is the abbreviation for the President's new law, the Affordable Care Act -- which for the Mangiones will be anything but affordable because the law adds a new tax on every insurance policy and requires a list of additional benefits the Mangiones didn’t want to pay for.
Robert Zirkelbach, spokesman for American Health Insurance Plans, which represents insurers, explained that "for people who currently choose to purchase a high deductible, low premium policy that's more affordable for them, they are now being required to add all these new benefits to their policy.
That," he says, "is also going to add to the cost of their health insurance premiums."
This comes amid a huge debate over whether ObamaCare will raise or lower insurance rates.
For the Mangiones, that answer is abundantly clear.
Does anyone know if we're getting taxed on the health care benefits provided by our employers this year? We're all fucked when that happens.
Thanks Obama!!!!!

I was shouting from the rooftops since 2009 that the "Affordable Care Act" did not mean the "Less Expensive Care Act," ....

This is what happens to all who have no employer plan. There is nothing preventing the insurance co from upping the rate. The Seths of the world will pay it. The rest will be pushed into exchanges. The rate will not be 1000 a month for this man if he does that. It will be similar to the entire cost of say my insurance (my rate plus company paid subsidy). From Oct to Jan 1 he may pay 1000 a month. Or go without.

Re: U.S. passes "historic" healthcare bill
How can you prevent them from upping the rate? Insurance is supposed to cover risk, which means that the premiums paid by all the insured have to cover the expected payouts, plus overhead (fixed and variable costs), plus some sort of profit for the shareholders (otherwise why be a shareholder?).Tero wrote:This is what happens to all who have no employer plan. Being pushed into exchanges doesn't mean you're not buying insurance. The exchanges force insurance companies to sell you insurance at a premium - it's possible to get some assistance on the premiums if you make a small income, but it's only partial assistance for most people. That's how it works. Jeez, Louise....
You CAN'T go without, Tero. You have to disclose on your tax return that you are insured, or not. And, if not, you pay a penalty on your taxes.
Re: U.S. passes "historic" healthcare bill
Good god socialists can be stupid. You really don't understand what's happening do you? You think it's about "affordable care." It's not. It's about Progressive Marxist control of one-seventh of the nation's economy and the next step towards single-payer socialized medicine as but one more step in the Marxist Progressive plan to "fundamentally transform" the United States into a Marxist socialist nation by force and fraud.Tero wrote:This is what happens to all who have no employer plan. Here's what's going to happen...in Obama's dreams: Obamacare is such a deliberately byzantine and complex law that it's impossible for the private health care industry, much less the private health care INSURANCE industry (they are two entirely different things you see...) to make a profit under the rules set by Obama and the Progressive Marxists. This forces them to raise premiums and prices (again, two different and distinct things) to try to stay in business. But they won't be able to raise premiums and prices enough to cover the costs of all the mandated care because consumers will not be able to afford either the premiums or the costs of health care. Very soon after Obamacare kicks in fully, the health care insurance industry will begin to disappear. This attrition will continue at an accelerating pace until, very shortly, there will be no health care insurance industry at all.
The government cannot FORCE a company to provide health care insurance in a market where there is no profit to be made, so the companies involved will morph into some other business model or simply close their doors.
When this happens, as it is already doing right this minute, the Progressive Marxists will use the fact that they have deliberately and maliciously driven private health care insurers out of business with massive overregulation and unendurable costs and losses as an excuse to declare a national "health care emergency." The next Marxist Progressive President in office will use his executive power to take over complete control of the actual health care industry and will declare that "nationalizing" the health care industry is necessary as an emergency measure to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public.
And by that fiat the Marxist Progressives intend to impose socialized medicine on the United States against the will of the people.
This has always been their intention from the very beginning! The loose-lipped Marxist Progressives in the Senate like Nancy Pelosi let it slip that this was their whole plan all along when she (and others) admitted that Obamacare is nothing more than a step in their plan for "single-payers" socialized medicine.
I suspect, however, that the Marxist Progressives have overreached and that they are going to lose control of the Senate at the mid-term elections and the conservative majority is then going to repeal Obamacare pretty damned quickly.
